Was there a word Political Dynasty? I think Political era in the Philippines is nearing to abnormality in creating such a word Political Dynasty. The Philippines is a Democratic Country with WHOLE FREEDOM FOR YOU OF WHAT TO DO AND DECIDE, provided you must be held responsible solely of any mishap you committed by so doing. So if you will noticed that Political Dynasty is a mere flowery words for the main decision reside with the people. I think the Congress is just making fun of the funds of the public on such idiots discussions

You are perfectly right. There will be no political dynasty if people do not vote for the candidate. For example with the case of the Estrada's/Ejercito's, they never forced the people to vote for Jinggoy and JV. On the other hand, these younger Estrada's seems to have done well for their specific constituents. This scenario is also duplicated by other political families since the younger generation seems to outdo the political parents. What we should avoid are the corrupt politicians whose idea of joining politics is for personal gain. We the electorate should choose well and not base our choice on surnames alone.

The phrase "political dynasty" has been coined because of a lot of people seated on various government offices who refuse to give up their posts to anyone thinking that they are the only ones capable of helping their people. Yeah right! Talk about corruption as well.

That, if we are to discuss employment not in the stage of politics wherein anybody who want to be and Officer must be elected through individual voting and in confidential manner, if the candidates win, it is not because his father is a Congressman, Senators or President. He won the election is so because he was voted by the people who believed on him. Irregardless if they are both the same Family members who ran and be elected on different positions. The being member of a family is irrelevant but he being who he is, is different and I think there is no Political Dynasty if he won. The big deal is he was voted by the people on a fair and square match.

Exactly! But you very well know how dirty politics is. And these days, if you have the money, then you are sure to win any election.

I think this is the modern way of what Dynasty is. Since we are in a democratic government everyone is assured of a political position to whomever is chosen by the people. So politicians have used this process for them to stay in power longer. Instead of having a limited term like 3 year term for a Mayor what he does is to let her son, daughter, or wife to run so that they stay in power virtually. That is the trend nowadays and for some big political families they even extend their positions in almost all positions like councilors to even the lowest position like the barangay. That is what is being coined as Political Dynasty in our place. They have evolved from the feudal system and has made a work around in the system so that it may look less of a dynasty since they are voted by their loyal constituents. Legally they may be called as elected politicians but in reality there is really a deep seated hidden agenda in all of these.

Hi, Dynasty only exist in a totalitarian regime during the reign of kings and queens where the people has no choice over who should lead them. In our democratic system, the choice rest on the people manifested in am exercise called election. It is the elected person, chosen by the majority, who is tasked with the administration of governance. If they rant and rave at how crooked or corrupt the government can be, in the first place it is they who put and instituted that government in the first place.

Political dynasty is a term for families who control a particular area. This is a very common practice where the wife, son, daughter or other relatives are asked to run for a government post since most political families would not want to let go of that power. Although the Constitution prohibits political dynasties, the Congress has yet to come up with a law or at least define what constitutes a political dynasty. But of course, it's up to the voters on who to vote come May elections. If they chose to put a certain candidate who is affiliated with a political family, that's up to them as an exercise of their right of suffrage.

Hello teotimo, because the mind has been colonized and conditioned to make them believed on that candidate because their relatives or family members have done better in the past. so, the notion is that they tend to create a political dynasty as we know today. though it's not the way of the kings and queens, you get to see little changes in leadership but also little change in progress too unless the voted family members in different positions in the government are doing their jobs, the rest are merely lust for more power.
