Use cooking oil that is good for the health, or you just boil them or steam the food, once i already tried cooking egg with small amount of water, i want the egg to be sunny side up, but i can't see cooking oil, so i decided to use water to cook the egg, and it was nice.

that's a nice trick--using water to cook egg. If you use more water you'll have poached egg. I actually prefer poached egg nowadays than the typical sunny side up in oil..:-)

Using oil when cooking cannot be avoided especially if it is a cultural thing. You can try steaming some of the foods that you usually fry to decrease your consumption of oily foods. I also use clean table napkins (or tissue) to absorb the oil before eating them.

Thats a trick which I had learned with my sister in law, it really absorbs cooking oil so fast. :) We can't avoid oils in cooking or in cooked food but we have options in eating oily food in moderation.

Its real bad for you, I dont eat fried foods very often. As I had a heart attack about a year ago now. The dr. told me that was the first thing I needed to cut out.

Hi Bintang...I think it is difficult to avoid fried oil for Indonesian people, because most of Indonesian foods use fried oil or coconut. But, we can avoid fried oil by steam them. I think there are many delicious recipes that free from fried oil or coconut.
