Let's hear it for the good samaritan!

An SUV carrying 3 kids and their parents lost control and ended up going over a cliff into a river. It just so happens a kayaker was passing through that very part of the river at that moment.. he was actually lucky the SUV didn't crush him. The kayaker helped the children get to safety, but the father was stuck in the SUV. His wife stayed with him, holding his head above the water, until firefighters could get there to help. Thankfully they were nearby when it happened and only took a few minutes to get to the SUV. Only the father suffered injuries.. and the kayaker is being called a hero for the part he played! Doesn't it make you feel good to hear good news once in awhile?

I bet that he made the mom at ease, as she didn't have to worry about being in two places at the same time -getting their children to safety, or taking care of the husband while waiting for the emergency crews. It is great to hear good news like this once in a while.

Wow! That is amazing news!! I am so glad he didn't think twice about helping them, like alot of people are nowadays are to afraid to help or do anything for anyone other then themselves. But this is great to hear/read!

Don't get me wrong, I love to hear tales of people being heroes. But smaller acts of kindness and generosity warm my heart more. I mean, if an SUV full of people falls into the river right in front of you, most people would act. But few will offer a lift to a stranger, buy a coffee for a homeless guy, write a letter praising an employee or tell a stranger that their lipstick suits them. Those little things are easy and cheap and can make a world of difference to someone's day.

Very true! I agree you'd have to be a heartless jerk to walk away when an accident happens right in front of you.. but it's still nice to hear more news like this!

That was close! And hooray for the kayaker although he couldn`t havre done otherwise, don`t you think? This is what I call good news. I only wish the media would write down more about these kind of things.

Yeah. That was a good samaritan in real life and that is what Jesus taught us in the bible. Anyway, it is not only that. There are many samaritans happening in real life. It is just some of them were not being notice. It is because people were prone to hear a negative news than the positive one.
