I had to file an extension. I got my SSA-1099 on Saturday. If you remember I couldn't find mine. Well, I didn't receive it because I didn't change my address (supposedly) for Social Security. I went to their website, I'm sure of it and made the change of address.
Anyhoots, I got my 1099 and SIL did my taxes like always and this time I have to pay $85. Well, tomorrow is the 15th and I don't have the money to mail in. Soooo I have to file an extension.
I hate that I got to pay that much but since I made over $600 in Yahoo last year I gotta pay the piper.
Any freelancers out there had to pay taxes on their earnings?

I have never had to so far, but I hope that perhaps next year I will have earned enough to owe taxes on some of my online earnings. It would mean I did well.

Yeah I guess that is one way to look at it. I did well. I'll make twice what I did lady year because I'm getting about $160 a month now. One month I made $210 on Yahoo.

That's too bad.
I thought I had to pay $95 tax but I went over everything again, and I don't have to pay anything. Load off my mind.

Ours aren't due until the last day of April, and if that's a Sunday, they allow us one more day to Monday.

Hate to hear that you have to pay in. When I make money online enough to tax I use Turbo Tax online and deduct my computer and internet service as a business expense. Have you thought about doing that? It saved me from having to pay anything in. You might want to check into that for next year. The Turbo Tax can be done online and they walk you through it step by step. I have filed online Turbo Tax for several years now. It is cheaper than an accountant and I don't have to leave my house!

I owe the government $2,400 thus far, usually it's $5,000 but then I have to wait for them to give me the owing sheet in July. They mail it mid July, and I pay it on my birthday for the due date or they start charging interest. I expect this, and many have told me to get RSP's or whatever they are so the money doesn't go straight to the government but into these.

Good grief. Some of your jobs are under the table, though, right? It seems that your other jobs would take more withholding out if your wages. That takes a huge bite out of your savings, huh?

Now that I am no longer working so I just have to submit my one last tax for last year income and was done in early March 2013. I also have submitted for my husband's the same time, and there was some overpaid tax amount which the government had refunded to him too
. We use e-filling, it is convenient and fast with no hassle
