I turned the tv on about 2p. to watch Millionaire show and the news was on about this bombing. They said 23 people were dead and 2 dead. There was two explosions and now they are saying they found three other devices. They have closed down three hotels now. FBI's expert bombing teams are in route now I guess. 1000 police were there and 400 National guards. What in the world is going on? I hope that no Mylot member's families were in the Marathon or live near by.

Yes, justice will be served. The FBI is on it and they won't stop until the people are found.

Well, since you wrote this the two young men have been killed and/or taken into custody. I will be curious to see what they find out, if anything, was this young idiot.

I have not heard from one of my friends who runs a lot of marathons to see if she was there, or knew anyone there that has been a friend of mine from Indiana since before Facebook. It is a shame there are things like this that have to happen and it makes you wonder what is next, and how lax is security everywhere. Let's hope this is not the start of a rash of happenings again around the US.

Seriously it makes you wonder why someone would do something like this. People just sometimes never take time to think of others.

They do it for all manner of reasons. Publicity, power, etc.

I was shock to hear what had happen in Boston. I just was wondering who did this. Last night some was hinting that home grown terrorists may have been behind this evil selfish act, Oklahoma City all over again. I hope that they find out who did this and send in the drones.

Experts on the news feel this bombing was done with most casulties in mind. It was a pressure cooker type bomb and they know what type uses these. I hope they find out who did it quickly.

I think the numbers will be piling in both the fatalities and casualties being the news you are receiving is breaking news. I read that 2 bombs had went off and the marathon being a major annual event commands a huge crowd attendance which unfortunately includes both young and old. I have dreaded such attacks and especially so in America's own soil with innocent people taking the full damage. The organizers should have checked the entire route for such breaches especially when the country is entering very challenging times. It is sad and tragic when authorities do not do their jobs by learning from history when the last one was so recent.

Personally, I felt that the organizers and authorities should be extra vigilant when it is so tense nowadays. An event of such magnitude is so likely to be targeted and all protocols should have been followed like deploying explosive sniffer dogs around the entire event's route with more emphasis at the starting and finishing line. I am saying this because you would have read about 2 other bombs being found around the vicinity. I mean could you imagine what the extent of the damage may be if these other 2 bombs were successfully detonated? I can see from the video that there are enough coverage for crowd control besides that and at such a tense situation I have to say that the other protocols were absent until the bombs went off. It just shows that we should not leave anything to chance.

I think they did all they could. They had just done a sweep just before the bombs where placed. The guys were probably watching and waiting for them to do just that. I think that we as Americans just haven't gotten it fully yet. That people like this are going to do things like this at events like this. Each time something happens I think we get more vigilant and safety minded. We have enjoyed our free lives for so long is is very difficult to believe such things may happen. And having the man power to cover such events is tax payer's money at work. They have to think of all of this.

Yes, people come from all over the world for this event. I am sure the organizers had no idea anything like this would happen. I think the authorities did their job. Why would they think anything like this would happen? Some people just always tend to have to blame someone. I would hope that we would blame the people who did this not the people who organized this marathon. Thanks for your input.

Too mean to live is about right. I don't like to even listen to the news but you have to know where the next idiocy is taking place. I hope they catch them too and soon. I remember after 9/11 they were talking about cells and they look like students or refugees and move in right next door. Scares me cause now I live in a complex with mostly foreigners. Who can you trust and how paranoid is bad now days?

It's awful, but as to what's going on, I guess we can only wait and see if they can find out who did it and why.

I guess the situation at the library was a fire and they don't think it had to do with the bombing. It is awful. They said whoever did this knew what they were doing.

Hi, I haven't read or watched this news on TV. But it is very terrible news. Why some people are so bad and they kill the innocent people. What would they get by doing this? These people are psychic and ready to do anything for the money. There were many explosions by the terrorists in our country also. It is very cruel act and against humanity.
