I have a small strip of grass that I'm removing and putting in mulch and a couple plants. What is flooring is how much gardeners charge to do this small job. One person told me $2500. I almost fell out of my chair and another said $800 this morning talk about how to wake up fast. I received 4 reasonable offers of $150, $160, $250 and asked the person that offer $250 if they would match my lowest offer of $150, which the person agreed to do today. I'm thrilled to save some money on the job and will post a picture when the job is done. He offered to mow the lawn for $50 a month. Is this a reasonable price?

$150 would be perfect...you didn't say dimension of the strip..but that'd be a good amount if it isn't huge area. I dont' get people today...in a recession and no one has extra money, yet they charge these high prices! Then wonder why they dont' have any business! We sued to have a huge lawn, front and back..and paid $75 a month for once a week service. Yeha, my husband could have done it each week in about 1 hour, front and back as it was just square area...walk this way, turn, walk that way and got some good exercise.... But he was to lazy!

The strip is 5 1/2 by 35 feet. I'm certain its a good deal listening to the gentleman discuss how it would be done. It takes 2 days and I'm hoping the grass will fit in the dumpster. It might be to much and take 2 weeks to get rid of the grass, but that will save money. My husband said no way to paying $50 for lawn mowing and the area to mow is really small. The area is about 2 more of the area that won't have grass soon, so it really is a lot. Wow $75 my husband would not even consider that kind of expense, as he would find it wasteful. My husband can be very thrifty. Thanks for posting.

I think if it is good price then most probably you should go it. I think it is always good to earn money and save money.

I have learned quite a bit about the removal of the grass, which isn't easy because of the sprinklers, so it going to be more difficult to make sure they don't end up broken. I'm going to find and tag them, so they are easy to see. Right now, I don't know their location and the Gardener has to know before he starts.

I do not know much about the removing grass payments and I would suggest that you do what you feel is the right payment. I think if it is a reasonable price go for it. Best of luck.

The reason I'm removing the grass is so I'm no longer putting a lot of water on the street. We have a high water bill and by putting in low water usage plants we can save money. I won't earn any money from the plants, as not putting in plants to sell. In past years, I have sold many water plants, but now I'm trying to conserve water. The area I moved to is really dry with very little rain. Thanks for posting.
