I am so happy that you survived the 7.9 earthquake in Pakistan. It must have been horrible to be on the 6th floor during the earthquake. I live in England and we don't get earthquakes in the area I live in. In March 2012 I experienced two earthquakes in Chile where I was staying. I was at my friend's house and I am grateful that it is a strongly built house. The first earthquake happened in the night time when it was dark. It felt like the bed was shaking. I wondered if it had been a nightmare. My friend said it had been real. We looked it up on the internet. It had been a 6.8 earthquake. Days later in the daytime we had a 6.3 earthquake. I was in my friend's lounge and I could see glazing shaking. I felt very afraid. My friend knows that in a place like Haiti all the buildings might have come down in an earthquake that strong. Good luck to you in Pakistan.

I do believe it's nature and has nothing to do entirely with GOD, but wouldn't that be scary if GOD was literally shaking us, but i wouldn't be surprised. but we shouldn't loose hope i think, hope am not being too naive on my words here. i think haiti got it worse also with japan, i hope the country of IRAN and Pakistan didn't get any worse than that

The trucks driving down the freeway shake our house more than any earthquake I've ever experienced.

I watch the news, it was so sudden in that area. But still you should be ready always. As per watching the news. The area around Iran, Pakistan are near the earthquake belt. Maybe at least 4 earthquake belt. Keep praying my friend and I know you will all be safe.

OMG! Earth quack....have seen once. The whole house was vibrating like a mobile on vibration...literally... I was not very old, about fourteen years old. We lived in Kota, Rajasthan, and it started moving or shaking suddenly....we all were astonished...our drawing room was splattered, even each room was splattered where there were light objects...

Earthquake is terrible. I hope in my life time I don't ever need to experience it. I am lucky to be born to live in an earthquake-free country. Well, not exactly "free" as "mild earth-shakes" did happen before but it certainly was not destructive like the "real" earthquakes. I hope all the people who live in earthquake-threatened countries take the precaution and prepare yourselves before disaster strikes. I can not imagine what it is like feeling an earthquake with a 7.9 magnitude on the sixth floor of an apartment. It was lucky that you were not hurt. You are a brave man.

Never felt an earthquake here in Texas. They are common in California to the west and have happened along the Mississippi river to the east, but Texas ground seems to be pretty stable. Don't know for how long if all the oil gets pumped out from under the state.

I live in an earthquake country and the only thing I am scared of are earthquakes. Take care, Tushavi! And remember that you have to be watchful for many days because there are other earthquakes after the first one.

I have experienced an earthquke that hit the Central Part of our country in 1990. It was recorded at 7.2 magnitude but since I was living a bit far from the epicenter, the magnitude we felt in our city was just about 6.0. It was strong enough for me to be in panic mot especially that it was only me and a friend who were at home that time. I did not take anything well I ran out of our house, but just dragged my friend who was shocked and just started crying.

Wow, you're very lucky, blessed you. Nice to see that you're okay since it was a quite massive earthquake. I have felt earthquakes, it happened when i was at home, on the second floor. Though it's not that massive but still got panic, quickly I went down and then went outside, it was a horrible experience.

I am glad to know you are okay. Be however informed that some of our current 6+ magnitude earthquakes are engineered. Yes, there exists the technology to devastate people with simulated "natural disasters". We good people however know that Angels Do Not Play Such A HAARP - www.haarp.net

Hi Tushavi, I am very fortunate in that I have never witnessed an earthquake but I think it would be very frightening. I have been hearing the news about the quake on TV and my thoughts and prayers are with the people living there. Life is fragile in that we never know how or when we will leave this earth. Blessings.

I have lived in earthquake country all my life, so I have been through many. Each is just as scary as the first one was. But we do live differently, few things are stored above ground level, we know where to go, if we can get there, some bad earthquakes move so much all you can do is sit down on the floor so you don't fall down. All life is a risk and there is really more chance of an auto accident hurting or killing you. But things like earthquakes certianly make your stop and give thanks you and your loved ones are unharmed. Blessings

Hello tushavi, I am sorry that you feel that way but as i recall huge Earth quakes happened everywhere even in the US. last time it happened a lot in Asian countries, more popularly like Japan and even here in the Philippines. it's nature and happens even before human every got smart. how can you say that allah saves US alone when it happens everywhere. some one's better invent floating rock or sement to create floating continents in times of earth quake. mind you, japan had earth quake and tsunami

I have experienced two mild quakes in my life. The first one...it felt like a hot noisy stuff had passed at a lightening speed below our building. The second one felt more like a see saw...yes, it can be a scary experience.
