Why is that war movies are so popular among the general population? They depict horrible acts of violence, yet people enjoy them a lot. It makes joining military to be exciting. I think it's because shooting weapons, bombs going off seem to be fun and enjoyable to some of the people. Do we, as humans, actually love violence, so that's why we like war movies a lot? Is it in our genes to not have a disgusting reaction to violence?

Hey there, This is an interesting question. First off wars are made by governments not by people. People never make war. - Maybe this is some sort of propaganda.- We live in a time where people have become very agressive because of the circumstances we live in. This agression can be so bad that it can lead to civil war. All of this is very much driven by unknown unseen forces. There is no democracy.- No, it is not in our genes to love violence. - I think that we are in general peace loving. There is something else going on, that seems to be very complex.-

Hi, Our innerself always seek thrills in life. Whenever we see a movie, we feel that we are a part of that, particularly of heroic and winning team. May be this is why we like these kinds of movies.

Do you think that war movies are governments propaganda to make people more acceptable of wars?

@lakshimi. Sometime,s it's the people who also initiate a war or conflict. Sometimes it is with their own government and sometimes they initiate conflict with their neighbors. @inviisbledeath War movies are produced by movie production companies. They are mostly private business. if a government wishes to incite war, they need propaganda and state controlled media to do just that. Usually, the war movies you see (and not the archived shots or films) revolve around a personal story. War is the background story but of course it affects the personal story itself.
