The Lost Boys (1987)

Well, most of you know this story already. it's an 80s horror classic, about teenage vampires(bikers, just your ordinary looking delinquents) who have been feeding on people they hate. It was a fun movie to watch, i did not expect to really enjoy it, and the plot was interesting enough.. they even put a plot twist which worked well.

I liked it but at the same time I was kinda disappointed because I've heard great things about the movie. The rpoblem was that I've seen it only in my 20s. I'm sure I would love it if I had a chance to see it as a kid.

I didn't mean in terms of effects but if I was around the same age as the boys in the movie, it would be scary and awesome at the same time.

Yeah, it was made a long time ago and the standards these days are quite high... Good thing the movie did nt require a lot of special effects and only make up- which was done well.

I have seen a lot of vampire movies, but unfortunately have not seen the movie which you are describing. I do not like movies of vampire as they all have same story and they all end up with the same meaning.

That is quite unfortunate.. i love vampire movies though, i have watched dozens of them.. horror, comedy, romance and even action. many movies have different takes on the story and they are usually interesting.

I saw this years ago and don't remember. Am a lover of vamp movies too so this much not have very memorable. lol

Yeah, it was shown quite long ago.. And i have just watched it after more than 20 years. Well, there are tons of vampire movies out there so that's why it may be hard to remember all of them. I remember all the vampire movies i've seen though, since their stories are different- and the setting, usually.

I have a list of several that like the best. Most are about older folk and not teens and such. Like the 30 Days of Night. That is one that really stands out in my mind as being the most realistic I have seen so far.

I like those too. But being a vamp fan I thought this was very realistic and what a real vampire might be like.

Yeah, a lot actually. If you like action vampire movies then watch the Underworld series.. there are 4 in it. If you want the traditional vampires, then watch Bram Stroker's Dracula and Interview with a vampire.

If you want something similar to Lost Boys go watch "Fright Night", the movie that was thematically and tonally pretty similar. Also in 1987 when Lost Boys came out, it's main rival was another great vampire movie called "Near Dark". Near Dark was more serious but the two share many common things. I prefer Near Dark but both of them are good.
