Hello mylot friends! I hope you could help me in my query. I wanted to know why it is imporatant to mark a best response in our posted discussions? Do we really need to? Is it a mandatory? Is there a guidelines or rules about it? If we won't be able to choose is that a violation? Hope you could enlighten me on this.

It isn't mandatory at all, as you don't have to give one if you don't want to, or can't find one that is the best. baically, the best response, is more or less an ego booster to the one getting the best response. I haven't given the best response to all of my discussions as of yet, but it isn't a violation not to do so. It is like Mike said, that the only guideline is that you should wait at least a week to give the best response. By doing so, you are giving others the opportunity to respond as well. It isn't a big deal, whether you give the best response or not. Take care, and have a very good day.

Hello rose, Thanks for enlightening me. Just got panicked when I had read a discussion about this. The discussions seems to impose that it must be done. Just like you I haven't choosen any best response to almost all of my discussions. I gonna have to find sometime to mark a best response in each post and also rate some. Have a good day!

I don't often award best responses especially if the discussion I had is really long and many responded to it. It is much easier to choose a best response from a few responders. It is not something we need to do always, but you can use it if you genuinely feel that this responder really gave you the answer you needed or liked the most.

good day to you, honestly, i am not certain as to the rule in giving out a best response. however, for me, it is somehow a must to show how grateful you are in the response that you received from that responder. that the response he/she had made is perfectly right for the query that you have raised. nevertheless, it is still your prerogative to award "best response" or not.

Thanks for this discussion, i don't think it is the rule or mandatory. Best if we can wait for a week, as per FAQ

It is not really important. If you think all responses is best than don't mark it. If you find a responses which is make you feel something different than other responses or very like it you can mark it as best responses. A lot of my discussion I still not mark as best responses.
