Revenge can be Embarrassing

I got my dad really good one day. I'm sure you have been embarrassed by your parents or siblings before. I'd love to hear those stories. So when I was a child and my parents let me rent a movie we'd go to our local Blockbuster. My dad would go into the store with me and I'd hurry to find a movie because he only gave me five minutes. Yes, I had to have a movie in five minutes or he'd make me leave. (He didn't have as much patience as he has now.) So I would be looking at a movie and from the other side of the store you'd hear, "Five minutes, Amber!" And of course I did what everyone else did - I looked around for Amber. I pretended I didn't know who he was talking to. He has little to no hearing in one ear so he has no idea how loud he is (even if you tell him). He did that every time we'd go and it was very embarrassing. It wouldn't bother me now, but as a child things like that do.
So how I got him back...first of all, if you are from a couple parts of the world you are not going to think this is funny. You might think it is disrespectful. It wasn't, it was funny and everyone around thought so too. So one day I'm in the car with my dad, stopped at a gas station. I have no idea what got into me, but when I saw my dad coming out of the gas station, I rolled my window down, and yelled "Work it, Sexy!"
My dad's face blushed and he started walking VERY quickly to the car. Once we pulled out into traffic my dad started laughing this nervous laugh. He kept saying, "You got me good! You got me good." He thought it was funny, but it did embarrass him. I teased him and told him it was for all the occasions at Blockbuster.
So to the ones who live in the part of the world where this is not funny, don't worry. He thought it was hilarious, and remember everyone's sense of humor is different. To everyone else, I hope I made you laugh or at least smile.10 responses

This is really funny.I did not have that kind of relationship with my Dad as he was very old fashioned and we could not even talk about homosexuality in our house. Isn;t it wonderful that you can enjoy this with your Dad? Definitely payback time. Check out this website re help for your Mom http:/www.coconutresearchcnter it is about the uses of extra virgin cold pressed coconut oil in the treatment of alzheimers amongst other things. It's worth a try

Good one....you made me smile. My oldest daughter used to go through the store going maaa maaaaaa like she was a sheep. She would laugh her butt off as it embarassed me. So one day we were shopping and I went up to the service counter and had her paged. (The gal working at the counter knew me.) I had her page Boo Boo...that is what my brother called her when she was little....well she wouldn't come to the counter because she was too embarassed. Do you know she is going to be 42 in June..and she still does that to me in the stores~!

hee hee hee see this broad grin over here? Thats really fantastic what you did. I wonder why your dad was so impatient about letting you rent a movie. You sure need more than 5 minutes to scan through the movies and then decide which one you would like to see most.

Yes this is indeed funny and I am glad your father saw the funny side of this as well, it is great that he is not so stern that you can't pull this off. In some pars of the world like you said it is shocking if you do this:)

I think it is hilarious. My dad would find it funny, my mom would have been appalled and told us so, over and over. She did not like it if dad did something like that, or if I did.
