yesterday i discovered that its now possible to delete a friend here in mylot. what i would like to know is how can i block a former friend in mylot from sending me a private message or from viewing my profile page ? i really need help

Since this discussion was posted (and since I wrote the response), the interface changed radically and a 'block' feature was added. You can now block someone. It will prevent them from being able to respond to your discussions or comment on responses or comments that you post but they will still be able to see your profile, though they will not be able to message you or interact with you. The 'friends' list referred to here has now been split into 'followers' and 'following'. You can now use the 'block' feature to stop a person from following you, even if you don't want to block them. If you block the person and then unblock them, it will remove them from your 'followers' list.

It has always been possible to delete a person from your friends list. If you have deleted a 'friend' from your list, they will no longer be able to send PMs to you. You cannot block them, however, from seeing your Profile or from participating in any discussion. In fact, anyone at all (whether they are a member of MyLot or not) can view your profile and all posts and discussions. If you have received spam or 'hate mail' or any other threatening or offensive messages from this person via the PM system, you should PM GoAskAlice (who doesn't need to be on your friends list for you to do so) with the details. Abuse of the PM system is a serious offence and Admin will deal with the matter appropriately.

From what I observe here in mylot. When you want to send a private message to someone, then you need first to be friend with him/her. If he/she accepts it, then your private message can now be send and it will be read by him/her eventually. So basically, if you remove that person as one of your friend, then he/she cannot send a private message to you. Just don't accept his/her friend request in order for you to block his/her private message. Hopefully this answer your question. Hopefully someone can second out my answer or correct me if I am wrong. Welcome to mylot..

Thanks for the discussion, well dear Remember only a person in your friend list can send you private message. Second there is no way to block Third if he/she keeps sending friend request, just ignore, reject

i also dont know how to block people.maybe its impossible.but if you delete people i think they cant send you pm, can they? i think old and experinced users know it better than us. i wish they could help you. peace

No if they are not your friend on mylot they cannot send you a pm (private message).
