I enjoy reading Gardening Magazines to learn about new varieties of plants, tips to care for the plants I'm already growing and entering contests. I'll admit don't have a lot of room to grow many new plants; however, am considering growing Masquerade Potato. Its bi-color purple-white skin can be baked, mashed or roasted. The potato is quite an interesting color. The potatoes grow to 3 inches and are 7 oz spuds. Personally, I think these would be great for baking and know friends would surely ask where I bought them. I love eating potatoes. Another one I'm considering is Patio Snacker Cucumber, as grows in a pot on the patio and you put a square trellis in the pot. It would take up very little room and people living in apartments should be able to get lots of cucumbers also. The will be 3 to 5 feet when planting with a trellis. Any new plants that you have tried and had some success? I'm always thrilled when a plant does well in my yard. Right now I think the Meyer Lemon is outproducing everything else and sure has lots of fruit.

Gardening is a relaxing way to spend the day. You get to see fruit and vegetables grow quickly and enjoy the blooming flowers. I think its so good to be able to put homegrown food on the table. Thanks for posting.

I am doing a little bit of gardening this year but I usually buy my seedling and plants at a store or co-op. If it turns out maybe I will be adventurous enough to consider a gardening catalog next year.
