Tell me does Mechanical Turk accept applications from people outside of the United States?
From reading about it on the net i got the impression that they havent been accepting applicants from outside of the US for quite some time now. And somewhere i even read about people from the US being rejected.
I had actually made a registration/application a month or two ago. And i was not accepted.
Should i try again or is it a done deal and i shouldnt waste my time.?

Hey legalalien,
Whatever you read about mturk are true and the amazon mturk isn't accepting any new members outside the USA. Amazon mturk haven't given any information about it and I guess this is due to low quality work by non-USA.
Member from the USA have to verify their account before they can start using it - this means only one account per user but for non-USA it isn't possible. Though mturk delete or ban user they return by opening a new account. This is major concerns for mturk and to improve quality of work they had banned non-USA.
They haven't stated when they would open up but I heard if mturk as only a few members from a particular country they are accepting their applications. Have a try.if you are from India, you won't be accepted. mturk as enough Indians , in fact they're much have been more members than jobs!

I am not from India.
I tried already and i was not accepted. So i leave this for now.
But i am sure it's a legit site and if anything changes as far as registrations for non-US people go, i will surely hear about it and try to register again.

No!
Mturk does not accept applications from people outside USA.
I too tried day before yesterday, But it said its Only for US citizens.
But it's legit though. I checked the reviews about it online, people are posting positive reviews.
Where are you from btw??

I have also read good things about Mturk and im sure it would be a great extra income stream. It would be a great egg added to the basket. Oh well, what to do... :)

Are we talking Amazon's Mturk? There may be some hits that are only available to U.S. workers but they do allow people from other countries India is one of them. Its even mentioned in the FAQ https://www.mturk.com/mturk/help?helpPage=worker (read the section "Getting Paid") Philippines is another I know for sure. Only thing is if you are from outside India or the U.S you can only receive payments to Amazon gift card.

Yes talking about Amazon's Mturk.
Maybe they also accept people from India, but from what i've read around the net they only accept people from the US, and that is not even a 100% sure if they will accept absolutely everyone.
But they don't exactly mention that in the TOS or FAQ, it would be bad for business... Oh well, anyway it doesn't matter i dont need gift cards, i need money.

Amazon Mechanical Turk does accept members from other countries. I have a few friends in India that use Mturk. Sorry to hear that your request was denied. Give them another shot and see what happens. It's definitely one of my favorite sites to use.

Tell me when was the last person you know accepted on Mturk?
Because from what i read they used to accept worldwide but since one-two years ago they stopped accepting from outside the US. Although the people that already had accounts got to keep them no problem..
