Welcome back. There have been a lot of changes and I will try to briefly get you up to speed on them. First, the earnings program was discontinued as of May 1st.
The new design can seem daunting at first, but it is really quite simple. One of our members, @Owlwings , has created a quick guide that many have found quite helpful, you may find it here:

I wouldn't say just for fun, although that is still one aspect. Conversation and interaction can still be the core of the community. But the new format and guidelines also allow you to use Mylot to promote commercial activities as well. Some members now use the site to promote their work at sites like Bubblews. Others have used it to promote their online and brick&mortar businesses. I have even seen one member set up a separate account to promote their band. There are restrictions on commercial use, so please make sure you go over the new guidelines.
