Who is this secret person that bill collectors always think you can borrow money from?

Have you ever had a bill collector suggest that you borrow money from someone to pay back money you owe on a debt? If I could borrow money whenever I needed it, I wouldn't be owing the debt collector!!!

I know, right? they must think EVERYONE has a sugar daddy/momma waiting in the background with fistfuls of cash just waiting to be handed out...or that we all have parents with large savings accounts who aren't living just as their children are (pay check to pa check in most cases)...

They don't offer to let you make small monthly/weekly payments at a time? Ask them about this next time they call you.

Yes, I'm sure they would but since I'm already behind, I will not pay them until they agree in writing that upon payment they will remove the negative remarks from my credit reports and notate that said payment makes the debt considered paid in full.
