When I'm listening to a story, I always focus my attention on what I want to say instead of listening to the other person's story. To listen means you must be prepared to pay attention to the other person's talking. It's not always easy to do this because most of us don't listen well. We can't wait to interrupt and say our point of view. Disputes can't be solved until we listen to the other party and make their concerns our own. Listening is an art and a skill that can be developed patiently with much practice.
