Every once in a while, how ever good you are, you may still get into an argument with your spouse/partner. That may lead to a fist fight and then wham! What the hell was that ? How dare you slap me ?!! Has anyone out there ever been hit or slapped by your spouse or boyfriend/girlfriend ? What was the reason? What was your reaction ? Are you still together ? Come, let's share our thoughts on this now.

I can't say I have ever been in that situation. But I will say this, it is never ok. I don't care what the reason is. I have had arguments with significant others, spouses, etc, but never did I ever raise a finger in anger.

I've been pinned down a few times....(usually during drunken fights w/boyfriends)..but luckily, I am strangely strong for my size. Always got out just in time. And the guy always seemed a little bit scared in the end. haha

@LisaJo Yeah I guess in some backwards way it might lift their ego making them feel they have power

I don't believe in physical violence. Arguments are part and parcel of married life. No couple could avoid it. Slapping your spouse or girlfriend is an act of cowardice in my view. Beating someone does not solve the problem. It only proves that you get carried away and you are unable to control emotions (anger). I have never slapped my spouse or any friend. If I get angry, I better leave the scene or stay quiet, till my anger cools down.

@writerjo - I agree with your points regarding praying and diverting the spouse to devotional activities, if possible.

@LisaJo You are in difficult handling situation . . as @dpk262006 mentioned leave the scene or stay quiet . When I show much anger to My Spouse she simply keep quiet & I come to normal stage ..Praying also brings Peace , Lead your Spouse to Devotional atmosphere if possible .. Everything Will Be Alright ..! ! !

My ex husband used to hit me and tear my clothes. Well the most "memorable" time was when he hit me in my eye because he came in after 1 am. I asked him "Where have you been?". I asked it calmly, not getting in his face or anything and then BAM! got fist to the eye. Yep. He didn't realize how bad it was til the next morning and in a panic he tried to convince his grandparents that I intentionally hit my eye on the sink corner. Um that would be quite a feat for somebody who can barely function in the morning and the injury was no where near consistent with what it would have looked like hitting it on a sink. I just hope I can marry somebody with a brain next time and preferably one that doesn't answer everything with violence.

That was really bad going on for you there. Keep your hopes high and things will work out fine.

I've had my fair share of crazy ex-girlfriends and they have shown their pugilistic tendencies to me in more occasions than I can recall! Must be all those punches I got in the head... LOL!
