Be Prepared

I hate surprises and prefer to be prepared. I am kind of a control freak, I guess. I have prepared food to eat tonight, and I have food for hubby and I to eat tomorrow for lunch. I was accidentally prepared. Hubby came home from the car show early. He said the sky turned black, the wind picked up, and there was an announcement made about a severe storm warning. He packed up everything and headed home. Hubby is having a nap right now, and I am prepared to serve him dinner. Not everything is so easy to prepare for, though.

I just don't like scary surprises. Like sudden deaths. But sometimes surprises are good, like when somebody buys you something you've had your eye on and you forgot all about it, but they didn't.. (my mom just surprised me with something recently from the Hallmark Store.) As long as you don't get too surprised and your heart starts racing...I mean, no "good" surprise is worth your health, ya know? Like a surprise b-day party when you walk in the room and everyone jumps out and yells, "SURPRISE!!!" I think we can all do without those.

Yes, I agree there are good surprises and bad surprises. I just like to be in control, whether good or bad.

I remember my trip to Kansas. That last night there was a big storm rolling in. We got really lucky and only had a little rain, but we had loaded up the car the night before just in case. The roomie kept fretting about tornadoes, but we were watching the TV (about the only time we had the TV on BTW.) As it was it skirted Kinsley and we heard a lot of booms, but the worst of the storm was moving northeast of us.

Are you coming this way again any time? I think I would like to make a run to Texas. I think Oklahoma is getting most of the tornadoes of late.

@GardenGerty We will probably be up there some time, probably in the spring again. I expect the nephew's family will be down for Christmas. They are going to be in Wichita, I hope you are moving a little closer to there...

You're right, not everything is easy to prepare for. Nature is one unpredictable thing. But you had a handle on dinner. Nice!!! We had some real good stuffed peppers for dinner.

Stuffed peppers are great. I am working on clearing out the freezer so had this casserole made with ground beef. If I had had peppers I could have made stuffed peppers, though.

@GardenGerty Okay, so you improvised. Thats cool. Look, all the food is edible, so you just came up with a way to redo it. I do that all the time.
