Blue Moon

On July 31 there was a blue moon, when a full moon appears twice in the same month. (as you can see in the picture, it isn't really blue, though it would be cool if it was). It was partly cloudy so when the moon rose, I never saw it until later. Then when I saw the moon with no clouds, I took my camera and tried to get a picture, but by the time I got a good one, the clouds started moving in and so the bottom has these wispy clouds on it. My 13 y/o son made a funny comment because this is probably the first time I got a good picture at night with my camera, because it isn't a high quality camera. He said, "Yep, it was once in a blue moon that you got a good picture" So I guess next time I take a good picture at night will be the next blue moon. Also, though I am not working today, I won't be here...why? We are going to rent a canoe! I am so excited, I love the water whether I am swimming or on a boat of some sort. It is funny, I live on a lake, but because my husband has not fixed the steps and we don't have any kind of boat, I haven't been swimming other than one time at my neighbor's house. So I will hopefully have a good post about my canoe adventure this afternoon.
