Rented a canoe

Yesterday we rented a couple canoes at the local state park. I have more pictures and will share when I can. This first picture is of the dock at the lodge and where they set off fireworks during the fourth of July. When we arrived at the dock, this man on a sailboat arrived at the same time and when he got out, my son asked "Hey do you have a strawberry field?" and of course I was confused by my son's question until I looked at the man more closely and sure enough, he owns the farm that has the pick-your-own strawberries. So we chatted for a while and he was amazed at the distance we travel to pick strawberries and that is because there are no other farms near us. I had such a great time that I am hoping in a couple weeks that we can go again and maybe even pack some food so we can stay out longer.

I love canoeing, while growing up we would rent canoes occasionally. As for dogsled trips, now that sounds like fun, however as one who doesn't like the cold, I wouldn't want to do it often.

Uh oh, seems there is a problem with notifying me when someone comments on my post, I only came here to see why no one would comment. It was a very fun day and I hope in a couple weeks to do it again. Anyways, here is a picture I took of some sailboats on the water.

I did and I know you already saw this, but for those who haven't, here is one of the canoes and where we stopped to swim to cool off.

I don't think I've ever been in a private canoe - only the kind at Disneyland where there are many people using the oar to steer the boat. So funny how sometimes we find it really is a small world - how nice the farmer has a sailboat! I hope you can go canoeing again soon too - maybe take some strawberries - ha ha.

Really? I grew up renting canoes from this one park and like this park the water was calm, so I know all about canoeing on calm water. I only went canoeing once on a moving river, that was exciting. And you get the last picture, a picture I took on our way back to the marina of the most beautiful sky I have seen in a long time.

That sounds like a really enjoyable outing. I have never seen a strawberry patch. I would like to see one now though. I miss picking black berries when I was young on my grandparent's property.

There are more picture since you replied. So you never seen a strawberry patch? Besides renting a canoe as a child, we also picked our own strawberries and now I guess I am passing that down to my son.
