Yesterday, I was very upset. I went to the doctor they have been giving me lately and I don't care much for her. She seems to not be listening to me at all. She is obnoxious . Once a while back , I was a few minutes late, So she just left (right in front of me). and I had to reschedule.
So this appointment I was 20 minutes early in fact and she kept me waiting till 40 minutes after my appointment time!
If that was not bad enough when I was trying to talk to her about some things she would butt in and just talk right over me ! Does that sound like someone is listening?
We pretty much ended up arguing and she refused to give me one of the meds I was wanting. more about that later. Sound like I need a new doctor?

After having watched doctors do the same thing to both my Grandmother and Grandfather toward the end of their lives, I would say, YES. Find yourself a new doctor, one who will listen to your needs and concerns and take into consideration the big picture and do what's going to be best for you.
Perfect example of a similar situation, My grandmother, god rest her soul, had several medical issues the last several years of her life; heart problems, diabetes, kidney failure which required dialysis, etc. Now she didn't just have one Doctor to deal with she was seeing several including one good but very stubborn heart specialist who refused to listen to Grandma, or any of my other family members who tried to speak up on her behalf.
For months every couple weeks at best, we'd end up rushing my grandmother to the emergency room because her heart would race, she'd get faint, etc and every time they would give her a medication (its name escapes me right now) and it would settle things right back down to where they should be, and for months my Grandma and other family members who attended these specialist appointments with her requested she be prescribed this same medication instead of what she was on. Finally on probably our twentieth trip to the Emergency room the Emergency room Doctor stepped in and pushed the specialist to change the medicine, and guess what, no more trips to the ER for that reason for seven years after that change was made.
That Doctor instead of doing what any logical human being who took the time to listen and look at the situation would have done just kept doing what she felt was right. She preached about what she thought was right to the point she upset many of my family members because she refused to look at any other options regardless of the consequences. It's pretty bad when all the local EMTs know you and your entire family by name...
Anyway, I hope you get this straightened out and find a Doctor that's willing to listen and work with you to find the proper solution to whatever may ail you.

@bunnybon7 I wish that someone could go with you and be your extra eyes and ears. Yes, you need to look for a new doctor. We have seen all types with my sister, but when you get a good one, you know it, and your health gets better, just like @glasser3 said.

Most docotors today are there for the money. They are not dedicated at all. Commercialaisation is the order of the day and that combined with the kind of attitude that your doctor displays can spell disaster for patients.Hope you will be able to sort this out in the best way possible.

@allknowing and @bunnybon7 as we learned with the above mentioned doctor later on down after we finally got my Grandma's meds switched, she was actually getting kick back from the manufacturer of the other medicine she had originally prescribed her.

@bunnybon7 I wish there was a feedback from patients organised by some government body that would force these doctors to behave better.

Doctors no longer have good bedside manners. They rarely listen and they are more interested in getting you out the door and getting to the next number in line. Good luck at finding a new doctor.

Oh, I hate that! My kids old pediatrician was like that - he wouldn't listen to me and would constantly interrupt while shaking his head as if what I just said was ridiculous. He went by the book and wouldn't even hear me out about what I've heard or read. It was time for a new doctor - and I'm glad we switched. Definitely seek out another doctor - you don't want a doctor to cause you more stress! Tell 'em SmilePie said so - ha ha!
