Do you use visual voicemail on your mobile phone?

In case you don't know what visual voicemail is, it is where you are able to read the message instead of listening to them. Anyway, I use a Boost mobile prepaid phone. I was offered a free trial to use their visual voicemail, so I tried it. I have to say that it didn't work well at all! The messages would come out all wrong! lol For example, part of a message that I got from my husband read: "Brenda wants some phones - and we can use probably another North address." First of all, we don't know a Brenda. Secondly what the heck is a North address? lol Wondering why he would say something so off the wall, I listened to the message. It turned out that he didn't say that at all! lol Needless to say, I didn't bother signing up for their premium service. I just let it expire instead. lol

The one I use currently is YouMail. I had a better one before but it does not work on my new phone. I depend on the voice to text because I don't have time to listen to all the messages. Reading them is Much faster. Some of the apps are better than others.

I can understand how it would be faster reading them. However, if it doesn't work correctly, what's the point?

@sacmom Mine works quite well as I pay a little more and use a company with real people doing the transcription, not just running it through a machine. There is no tweaking or learning curve necessary. It is a true blessing for those who do not hear perfectly.

I didn't know they had that - so it translates the message in text form to you? Sounds like they haven't perfected it yet - I don't think I'll bother with it.

Yep, that's exactly what it does! Did you happen to read SGT's response below? He explained what needs to be done in order to get it to work...

Seems like one of those things that is really good in theory, but thenin reality not so great. Could make for some good laughs though :)

I'm not sure if we have this kind of service in our place but sounds interesting to have. Perhaps the company needs to polish the system.

Hmm, I don't know. I think they could use a complete overhaul!
