Sarcasm in people—how vulnerable are you?

Sharp-witted and sharp-tongued are totally different. I wish to be the former but never the latter because this has negative implications. Some people have such sharp tongues that they cannot even give a compliment properly. It will come out as an insult. What causes people to be sarcastic? I hate this quality. Reading satire and sarcasm in literature is a different thing altogether. But mingling with such people is different. What are your views on this?

I totally agree with you Kala, I hate it when people give double edged complements and pass comments that amounts to hitting below the belt. i would rather have people say things straight on y face rather than use velvet gloves..

I too never like innuendoes, reverse kicks or for that matter unpleasant interference. However, thankfully, I have not had the misfortune to meet too many of such people though it was common when I was young.
