Peel The Body Off The Bed

Sleep. It is something we all do. We all actually have to sleep at some point. Whether it be in the night time or the day time, or whenever. But I think we all know that sleep is essential for our well-being. And lets face it, who don’t like sleep. I know I love it when I am tired. But, this post id not really about sleeping. No, this post is actually about waking up from sleep. How do you wake up? Do you wake up grumpy, happy, needing more sleep? For me personally, I am grumpy. I will not look at or talk to anyone until I have my two cups of coffee. That is what I need to get the feeling of actually waking up. There are those days that I wake up and can actually sit right up and stand. And then there are those days that I need to stay laying down for about five minutes before I get up. But either way, I am not in a good mood. Is it that those of us get up grumpy, that we are mad that we had to get up? Maybe. But I think a deep sleep is hard to shake off sometimes. Sometimes it’s like there is a magnet pulling us back into the bed. Like that little voice saying, hey you, get back to bed, you’re not ready to wake up. Those mornings I am the worst I could ever be. The ones where I literally have to peel myself off that bed. Waking up is not an easy task, not for me anyway. And I am sure I am not along with how I feel about waking up. But once I am awake I am fine. Then I actually forget that hard feeling I had waking up. isn’t it funny how when we are young and we wake up in the morning, we are actually happy about it? I remember waking up as a kid and being happy I had the entire day ahead of myself. One day then seemed like a lifetime. Not anymore. And it was the best to wake up in the summer time and eat something then go outside and ride our bikes and play with our friends. And when it started getting dark we didn’t want to stop playing. What happened to us? Why is it harder to wake up as well get older? I am still looking for that answer. I would love to, just once, have that same happy feeling waking up like I did as a child. That feeling that I didn’t need to be peeled off the bed. That feeling that I don’t need coffee to kick start my day. Wouldn’t that be an amazing feeling. And wouldn’t it awesome if not only can we wake up that way, but have all that energy that we once had. Now, that would be a great way to wake up in the morning. I know we age and we slow down as we get older. But why does that easy wake up have to go away. When I find out how to get that feeling back I will let everyone know. In the mean time, I will continue to peel myself off the bed every single morning. There are mornings I feel like I have to be peeled off the bed. That is usually because I didn't get enough sleep. LOL When I do wake up I just kind of get up and go. There is no drawn out process of trying to wake up. For me it is either awake or asleep. LOL Of course, I also have a kid that I have to be awake for. So that might make a difference. LOL

I need to get up, sit there for a few minutes before I move. Then I walk to the kitchen and make me coffee. After about an hour I am awake enough to come online.

@inertia4 That would be luxurious. I get up with my feet hitting the floor and my mouth having to yell at my kid not to do something or he will hurt himself. LOL

I need my coffee. I don't fluff pillows, I don't pray. Well, I guess I pray to the coffee machine. LOL. That is my pick me up.

I have had a few times lately when I am struggling to wake up. I was better today. Have not seen you around for a couple of days so I am checking in on you.

It happens as we get older. I haven't been around because my kids were here with me the last few days. So, when they are here I hardly ever get online. I am here now though. And I am doing my catching up. I have one more site to get to also. Hopefully I can sometime tonight. If not I will go there tomorrow.

I usually wake up feeling tired but not grumpy so I will just sit or lay for a few minutes more and then I will get up and do my morning duties and I am ready for my day to begin. I have a few times where I have not wanted to wake up but I have to so I can let my dogs outside and than back inside. I will feed them and then have my cup of coffee.

See, I need my coffee before I do anything. If I could have an IV stuck in my arm in the bed with coffee running through it, I think I might achieve having that energy getting up out of bed. Nice!!!

It would be wonderful to feel that way again. I have a hard time getting to sleep so when I finally do get to sleep I am afraid that I only get a few hours. When it is time to wake up I feel like crap. Normally a shower helps me wake up. Coffee is my second go to after the shower.

Waking up is really hard to do as we get older. It is actually beginning to annoy me. I would love, just once, to get up and feel great like when I was small.

You are so right. As we get older we sort of find it difficult waking up.I too would like to recapture that old feeling of springing up from the bed early morning.

Wouldn't it be great to do that, even for just one more day? I think I would love it. And I know I would also enjoy my day with all that energy I would have.
