What is your myLot or work background noise? I usually have music on to cover the sound of my family. They can be distracting. The music is not something I hear while I work, it's kind of just there. I never play it loud enough so I can't hear the family when they really need me but just enough so I can't hear their chatter. I've always needed something going while I work, even when it was homework and such.

Lately I have been listening to mumford and sons. I don't necessarily just listen to it while I am on the 'lot though. I've been kind of addicted to them lately since I am sort of just discovering them.

Is it comforting noise? You know, the ones that make it so you know life is just moving along alright for the moment? I love that kind of noise.... except when I'm trying hard to work.

I don't play any music, but my tv is on while I am in here, or fixing supper or whatever i might be doing. The fan is also going since I don't have air conditioning. In fact, if I don't turn up the tv some, the fan will drown it out and I can't hear what is being said. I guess I just have to have something going while i am in here or doing other things around the house.Take care, and happy mylotting.

I am an early riser. I rise earlier than the birds here but slowly but surely they will join me and that s my background sound - the chirping of birds.

I have to sneak out as the sun is setting to hear them hear. It is my calming noise when the house gets too busy and loud.

Right now I'm mylotting while my daughter turning on TV. I could enjoy both, watching my daughter activity ( not TV ) and mylotting. Usually I also turn on random songs or Westlife songs or turn on local radio at background

My daughter is talking to me about something that she has been talking about for like 10 minutes and none of it makes sense to me so I can do both myLot and listen to her.

Japanese pop. Right now, I have stuff by a group called angela going. They've done a ton of opening and ending themes for anime series like Sidonia no Kishi, K, and Soukyuu no Fafner. Hell if I know what those translate to in English. I actually don't have a single English song in my library... mostly because I've listened to Jpop for so long that I honestly can't make heads or tails of songs in my own native language. Is that embarrassing or what?

@yukimori Yep, that sounds like who it was.... they weren't my thing either. My teen has moved on to a band called The Twenty One Pilots. American not pop. I think they are what "my generation" would call alternative. *grin* My teen thinks a zillion years too old for her music. Funny thing, it sounds a lot like my own from "back in the old days"

My teen went through a stage of nothing but Jpop (I think) There was this one that the videos for were very.... Candy-ish and pastel and the woman that did the music also did commercials for toothpaste and such. It was kind of interesting.

@TLChimes It's really common for singers to endorse products like that, from what I understand. I'm betting those videos were probably by Kyary Pamyu Pamyu. That's pretty much how all of her videos are. Definitely not to my tastes!

Sometimes it's very quiet here when I am on the computer, other times people are watching the TV in the same room. I have learned to ignore the background noise.

I live in a zoo. We also live in VERY tight quarters. If everyone is calm, I can work around them but when they get to be too much I need the headphones and some music.

Usually the tv though the sound is turned down so low I barely hear it. I think I put it on just to have other people in the room! lol I also have my CD player going much louder at the same time. Can't Lot without the Rock!

Right now I am listening to Remember By Dear Cloud. I heard a little of it while watching I Remember you. The mvs kind of tick me off because I feel like the song is coming from the brothers point of view who wants his older brother to remember him, not the two love interests. I found some more songs by this band. Going to give them a listen too.

I love when you find one song a band does and it helps you find new stuff from them. Passenger is one of those for me.

When I post on myLot or other sites I generally use the TV or an Internet radion station as my audio background. I don't like total silence, I prefer some kind of background noise to accompany my activity, and when I'm in a really great mood I listen to music at a higher volume, but not very loud, just enough to give me that energy booster that could help me find my inspiration easier.

At the moment, I can hear the guys re-roofing the house next door. I don't think that anything would drown them out! Generally, I like it quiet when I'm trying to think. :)

The kind of noise wouldn't bother me too much while I work but if I was trying to read or something like that, it would drive me mad.

I do listen to music as I work. I don't like it too loud though. Right now it's Porcupine Tree playing on my stereo. Also, the ceiling fan in my room makes a rather squeaky noise, I'm used to the noise, but my friends get irritated every time they hear the fan sing a tune.

Right now, it is Wu Tang Clan's double cd featuring their hit single 'Triumph'. LAterit will be probably Miles Davis' 'B!tches Brew'. I really like to mix it up with the music that I listen to.
