Who Would Buy An Encyclopedia On Spells - Apart From The Obvious Of Course

I have always loved bookshops and now have 'a thing' about seeking out colouring books in proper shops rather than online. The main reason for this is to check out the quality of the paper as it does vary from book to book. The one thing I DON'T like about bookshops these days is that you don't get that 'new book' smell anymore. Granted, it's great that the majority of books are probably made from recycled paper but it would be nice to get a whiff of 'proper' paper from time to time. It's a shame the smell can't be faked. Maybe it's in the 'Encyclopedia of Spells?' Who knows? I wonder how many people have bought this book and I'm wondering if it sells out over my least favourite time of the year, Hallowe'en?! It's a massive book by the way, no doubt keeping witches everywhere extremely busy. There used to be a witches' coven in the cemetery near to where I lived. Lots of wailing going on night after night (well, I think they were witches lol) but I didn't dare look over the wall to see what they were up to.

I haven't noticed if there is a new book smell in new books nowadays ,but then I haven't bought a book for ages shrinking back at the sight of the book price .They say the reason why there is no "smell "in books is that they now use environmentally friendly offset printing ink.Don't know what Encyclopedia of Spells is like .Why does it have new book smell?

I never looked through the book itself, I just noticed how big it was and the strange title. Mind you, years ago I used to be 'into' Tarot Cards and Astrology and I never laugh at anything related to those subjects.

Thanks for responding my friend. I think it may have to do with the fact that most books have recycled paper in them and it doesn't smell the same as the 'new' paper, if that makes sense. I used to be addicted to going into the local library near to where I lived but I should imagine that's full of recycled paper now. Shame!
