Ha, nice try, buddy.. / myLot

So on our trip back east, we arrived around 1 in the morning, so we were tired when we got to the rental car place. The guy wanted to know how many of us there were, so I said 5. He points out that a full size car ( Camry) would be crowded, and did I want to upgrade. Nope. He comes back with keys, says they're out of Camrys, and says he has a small SUV for us for the same price. We get out there and there's a Kia Sedona, at least as big and roomy as my mini van. I betcha that guy already knew there were no Camrys out there when he tried to get me to pay for the upgrade!

Haha, reminds me of a funny story we experienced in NYC in January 2014. So obviously in January, New York has LOTS of snow. We even experienced a blizzard, yay... the joys of tourism. Anyway, I had ordered a "small car" - the smalles size Budget had since it's the cheapest and we both know that our luggage would fit even into a Smart or Fiat 500 or whatever they would give us. We are Germans, we know how to use small cars to the max *lol* Anyway, I had to spend 5 minutes at the counter convincing the guy that we do not want an upgrade, that a small car is totally sufficient. He tried to explain that "with all the luggage you have" (two suitcases????) and all the snow and only $5 more per day and bla bla bla... nope, I insisted to get my small car. And guess what we did get? VW Passat.... it couldn't get more German and it was HUGE. We were a bit stunned "So THIS is their smallest car???" Oh boy.... but it was fun.... and inexpensive *lol*
