I do not socialise much as there is nothing much going on in the real world and whatever goes on I am not interested. All those invitations for weddings, and parties are more boring than me idling around. Anyway I do not idle. I have my garden and pets to keep me happily occupied. Just a stroll in the garden looking at all the flowers and trees takes away my boredom. The birds that visit my garden and spending their time in their favourite birdbath is yet another spot I spend watching. And ofcourse my pet Preiti is a source of constant joy.

I used to like socializing more when I was younger, now I just enjoy the peace staying at home. It's not easy to find like-minded people around me, I find it easier to find like-minded people on the Internet, around the world. Anyway, it's easier for me, as a work-at-home mum, I can just stay at home with my children, without socializing with others. I bring my children to the park almost every evening, and talk to some neighbors. I guess that's all about it.

@kaka135 And to think that it was I who got together friends, family, neighbours et al for parties. But not any more

Same with me. I find like minded people on the Net and I spend my free time here. Glad to meet you.

I go to work 4 or 5 days a week. I go to my knitting group once or twice a week (depends on work schedule). That's about the extent of my socializing beyond the internet. I have Facebook and that is about the only way I kinda/sorta keep track of my kids and grandkids. When I'm at home, I'm either on the internet or knitting/crocheting something.

There is so much that is available in the virtual world just sitting at home which I consider a better option.

It sounds like the world at your home has more "real" things than parties where people to pretend to want to be with each other.

There is so much going on in my life that I hardly enjoy those social events. In the virtual world I find so many who share my interests which is not there in my real world.

You sound just like me, I have my flowers (and now I'm growing a tree) and my pets to keep me busy. Oh, and if there's one thing I CAN'T STAND, it's a wedding invitation. God I wish people would stop inviting me. I'm not going anymore. I mean it.

It is more fun to be online sometimes than to be in the real world.

I used to be a party organiser which I no longer do and what is dished out by others is not tasty!

I know a lot of people feel that way, I'm one of them lol. On the flip side, there are many out there who cannot picture life withou socializing and take great joy in it, to each their own
