Manipulation and Abuse

I just don't understand people sometimes. I'm sure a few of you have read my previous posts about my friend being taken advantage of by a lady. The lady is now about to be in A LOT of trouble due to her actions. I just don't understand why she did what she did to begin with, it's just beyond vile. This woman actually works for the state department of mental health. Over the past few months she befriend, took advantage off, and verbally abused a vulnerable person. She accepted concert and baseball tickets from him...leading up to manipulating him out of $3,000! All the while, verbally abusing him. Nearly every text message she sends him is loaded with the F bomb and contains some sort of insult. This after she recently presented at a conference about how she ''overcame' her anger. She's overcome nothing. Just for saying hi to her at that conference, my friend got a text telling him "You'd better watch how you ****ing talk to me!". Everything is now to a point where she's being reported to her job for inappropriate behavior. I hope the reports keep her from ever being able to work in human services again!

I don't understand why the guy didn't just drop her as a friend. If I had a so called friend insulting me on a regular basis, I would end that relationship ASAP.

Because the guy has A disability and didn't understand what she was doing wasn't being a friend.

@yukimori It's going to be messy if he has to go to court to try to get the money back....that is for sure.

@Lolaze That is abuse and exploitation, both of which are criminal. I hope more than one person has reported her. Other care workers, even those under her, or health care workers and educators are considered to be mandatory reporters under the law.

Did someone help him save and print the texts? It is unfortunate but i have known too many things like this to happen.

A lot of people in power... any kind of power.... abuse the power. It can make them mean and even abusive... and a lot of times they get away with it. I'm glad she is being reported and i hope the remove her from her profession. She shouldn't be around vulnerable people.

People should learn how to control themselves. If they couldn't, they should be ready with the consequences

If she's gone so far as making actual threats, I'd call my local police department's non-emergency number and ask if there's anything they can do about it.

@Lolaze [expletive deleted] That's really all I've got. I hope there ends up being enough documentation to bury her by the time all is said and done. The more I read, though, the more I'm wondering if she's going to retaliate against your friend when things really hit the fan for her. Please advise your friend to be ready to call the police and have her removed if she shows up to harass him. He shouldn't be engaging her at all at this point.

No threats, thank God, but plenty of verbal abuse.

Very sad to hear that, at least she is paying for her actions.
