Two out of three

Week before last when I went to get my paycheck (this agency takes 3 paychecks before the direct deposit kicks in), I found a Mediterranean restaurant that had a pretty decent gyros sandwich. They had the tzatziki just right. At the cafe at my old job,the sauce was too sweet. Today, I dropped Sassy, my foster cat, at the rescue, and on the way back I stopped at the same place, and got gyros wraps for me and the kids. I suspected that Dearra and Cary would like them, but I had my doubts about Naomi. She is my picky eater. And sho nuff, Dearra and Cary liked theirs, and Naomi took one bite and rejected it. I called it. But Cary's happy, he got two.

Hey, 2 out of 3 isn't bad! When it comes to my kids, I couldn't see either of them liking it!

@dawnald Hmm, possibly. How old do they have to be in order to like 'em?

I only get gyros from the state fair, and I haven't been there in a few years.. I'd love to have one though. The grocery store sells tzatziki so maybe I can just try to make one at home...

I don't know where you can get the lamb/beef mix for the meat though.

@dawnald I prefer chicken anyway, that's usually what I get.

I can't find a good place for them around here.... none live up to the first one I ever had which is from a place in a town close to San Diego (california) They had the lamb on a spit and carved it right off of there. The sauce was perfect the bread fresh.... *sigh* I just......

Mama knows! I love gyros! My kids "could" eat that - but one will only eat the outside and the other will only have the inside.

That's easy then. Get one, and split it up!

She does not like new tastes ? Gyros are a bit different from a restaurant to another. I found one where they are cooking the onions with honey, and it needs a sweet tzatziki sauce.

This one had raw onions. No, she is not very open to new tastes, never has been.
