Do you use Microsoft OneNote or any notetaking applications?

This is one of the screenshots of my homeschooling planning with OneNote

I am using OneNote to do my homeschooling planning now, and I really love it, so far. I was searching for a good and free notetaking applications to help me in researching and gathering information, so I can do my planning easier. I only found Evernote which can do quite a good job in this, but I do not really like the editing feature in Evernote. I even found it hard to create a table, hence I have to go to Google Docs to do my planning. I just found out OneNote has become free since last year. It's just like Microsoft Word when I want to edit my document, there's even a Draw feature where I can draw something freely. Moreover, it saves the notes in OneDrive, which has at least 15GB space, is more than enough for me. Evernote free users only get 60MB upload allowance which is always not enough for me. I am so glad as I just started to plan for my son's first grade lessons. So, it's been so helpful to me. What notetaking applications are you using? Are you using Microsoft OneNote as well?

Notepad is a very versatile and useful little program, which is all too often overlooked by many computer users these days. It can create a myriad of useful files and I have even used it to create a web query for Microsoft Excel.

I always use Notepad as well, when I just want to jot down something simple as it's loaded very fast.

Despite being an avid lover of Microsoft Office, I find absolutely no use for Onenote. Outlook, Word, Publisher and Excel provide me with everything that I need, so I consider that program to be superfluous. I remember taking a look at Evernote a few years ago, but once again there was nothing of any value to me.

@kaka135 Well it certainly seems to work well for you, but I feel that Excel and Word would be adequate for my use.

One of the reasons I like OneNote is that it helps me to organize and plan for my work, mostly homeschooling planning now, because it's like a folder (or I can create multiple folders for different purposes), then I keep related information or reference in each section in the folder. Moreover, I am always using several devices (tablet and two laptops), it's helpful for me to keep these online, so I can access it anywhere. I used to do planning with Microsoft Office (mainly Word and Excel), and uploaded to online space, but I have to create many documents. So, I think OneNote is easier for me and serve my purpose. I have never use Publisher before. I always see the program, but haven't try it out.

I have never tried this. I may see about it though as you are having good results. It is time I learned how to use my computer to the best possible results.

I guess we always learn to use something when we need it. It's good for organizing and planning, I suppose.

Yes, it resembles a physical folder (as notebooks), where we can have different sections (as tabs), and we can have different pages in each section. We can create many notebooks as if we can have many physical folders to keep our files. It's also helpful to share or discussion a topic with others, such as planning for a trip. It can be used as simple as a todo list too.

I guess if we only want to create one document, using Word is easier. But, since I am organizing and planning my homeschooling lessons, using OneNote helps me better, as it's like putting in documents in different folders, and we can label different sections in the folder.

I've got OneNote on my computer and I occasionally use it, but most of the time I just make notes on pieces of paper. I need to get more organised.

I also like to use papers as well. But, sometimes I need to be more organized, especially these are the things I need to use over the years, for several children, so it's better for me to keep them digitally.
