@writerjo Ebenz you forgot to mention how many lungi's you have and how many you buy every year. What is the cost? Which color do you like the most? Do you wear matching on it? So many unfilled questions please answer all of them one by one so that every one will understand clearly.

@prashu228 i don't know.. haven't you read his description... he's from India also.. wait I will check. Yes he is, how come you didn't know what Lungi is. hahaha... anyway, if his description of lungi is correct in my mind I see some women wearing that here also, but only for dance.

I assumed Lungi was like what we call lounge pants here in the US. I also thought it was for men and women both. Looking at the discussion made me want to look it up. I see that Lungi is much like what we call a skirt, and that it is mostly considered for a man. So I would ask, what is a woman wearing to keep cool if the men are wearing the Lungi?

@GardenGerty Certainly not .. Lungi is not like Lounge pants .. It is a men's night wear . It is also not like a skirt . Lungi is like a Dhoti . Women wear Nighty as a home wear and night wear .. The picture you see here is Nighty .. The picture added in my topic is Lungi ..

My favorite casual wear (inhouse) is a cotton loose fitting house dress in spring and summer and lightweight flannel pajamas in fall and winter.

@writerjo I did not answer what I like to wear casually.If I know I am not going anywhere for the day I might wear a house dress or a night gown. I like tops with no sleeves. In summer I usually wear shorts. I do not really like jeans. I do not like flip flops as they are not good for my feet, but I have sandals, slippers and athletic type (tie on) shoes.

I've seen video footage of the men in India wearing those out in public. I suppose if I lived there I would be doing the same thing, but here in America I prefer to wear loose-fitting sweat pants as both casual outdoor wear, formal dress and pajamas.
