Am I enjoying killing them far too much?

I am electrocuting them. I am watching their tiny bodies spark up and incinerate. There's an acrid smell to the air as I execute them, one..two..three and four at a time. Before you call the cops, let me explain... I have had a plague of flies in my house for a couple of years now. They move into the walls of the house at the end of the summer, then hibernate until late winter when they start feeling those longer rays of the sun warm up the house walls. Then they come in and party. They are terrible. They are currently having a swarm through my house. I ordered an amazing tool on Amazon. It's an electric fly swatter. It runs on two AA batteries which send an electrical current to the business end of the swatter. I simply zap these beasties into ashes. I have been suffering through these cyclical invasions too long. I can't stand having these stupid flies buzzing around my house. This is my house,my domain! I have tried to evict them, but they won't go. So...NOW THEY DIE! Maybe it's wrong of me to feel this way, but this thing is FUN ! I love the satisfying ZAP! when the electric grid connects to the body of a flying pest. Forget chasing them down and waiting for them to land, I can get them in mid-air. And I love it. So, yeah. I am killing flies today. And it's making me happy. It's making me VERY happy. It is wrong for me to love killing them?

I am already feeling outgunned. Even managing to get so many, there are still so many more...

@Rollo1 I was in Africa once and the person I stayed with kept opening windows and letting all kinds of insects out of the house. Can you even imagine how many insects there are in Africa? However, I digress, there will always be more and more insects attacking you in your home, but DON'T GIVE UP. WE MAY WIN IN THE END

@Rollo1 It isn't possible to eradicate them with a bat! We use other devices to get rid of them.. regular sprays.. but I hate those chemicals.

Sounds like you having a real party of your own. I can't say I know anyone who wouldn't enjoy what you are with your new little contraption.

The best thing is getting the little gnats on the window - zappity-zap-zap It's better than bubble wrap.

@Rollo1 oh I bet.. I can get a visual of it, and the best part is you dancing around, and a big ole grin on your face.

@Rollo1 It will serve you right if they return with tiny electrical charges and keep landing on you overnight.

It worked well, but now I seem to have another wave and I can't find my electrocutioner!

Remind me not to bug you-ha ha. Now that sounds like MY kind of a fly swatter! I'd like a bug squisher that does that.

You don't have to squish anything. The head of the swatter flips to a 90 degree angle so you can even get spiders on walls and ceilings. It will zap anything. It's more for smaller bugs, though, but they have more powerful ones for bigger things like wasps.

@Rollo1 Oh, now I want one too! I would be outside near the windows just zapping those spiders that seem to be just everywhere at this time of the year. Happy zapping!

I had a mozzie biting me at night and I guess he's gone now. But two or three nights in a row, I got bitten while sleeping.

@Rollo1 I am just back from my garden, I almost want to cry, they have even bitten me on my face. I used "Off" to keep them away, it seems that nothing works this year.

Is it mosquitoes that die after they bite you, or some other pest? Hopefully it is those mozzies that bit you.

People make fun of all the lizards we have in south Florida but you won't find insects and/or bugs in our homes!

I think I could live with a gecko, but an alligator might be too extreme a solution to the problem.

@Rollo1 I have lived here for 60 years and I have yet to see a roaming alligator unless I went to see them in the Everglades!! Don't believe everything you read!

I didn't know that they made an electric fly swatter. I may have to check into that. I would be doing the same thing, happy and excited to see them zapped. We have problems with gnats and I bet I could use that on them as well.
