I always feel I should have communicated more with my relatives. I hardly bothered with that earlier but Now i feel I have cut myself away to a certain extent.. I have of late trying to get back to my roots I have no serious regrets because I can make the right wrong to some extent. Do you have something you could have done right the first time?

Of course many things. Some I don't really regret, because I learned to be better from the experience. Some I do regret because they involve people who are gone, and they can never be put right.

@dawnald When they involve people who are passed on.. regrets stay on.. Learning from our mistakes is what life is all about. we can only do things with our present and future.. We can just be glad to learn from them and change and evolve in better humans.

Yes, I guess to a certain point I think I should have done a few things differently the 1st time around. However, I can't change the past, but I can try my best to improve in the present and in the future.

That's a nice move . I can relate , because of my desire to be always at Mylot , i sometimes forget to hear the ring of my smartphone when our daughter texts . I promise , i will text her tonight without here texting me first .

Like you, I have to renew ties with my relatives. It's been a while since I joined gatherings.

@sofssu Right. If it's not regular I would miss them but imagine frequent gatherings... I might lose my mind.

@Beatburn I am not a frequent gathering person.. I don't mind with my close family but not with a huge bunch of relatives.

Yes, of course..!!!! I mean everyone can connect with this line. Because "to err is human" so often we come across situations where we feel that we could have done it right or in a better way. But the "irony of fate" is we can hardly change the past..(in most of the cases).

@shani08 The past can't be changed but we can do what we can with the present and the future to address the mistakes of the past.. don't you think so?

@sofssu yes, you are right.. past can never be changed but we can always make efforts to make our future better.. an optimistic approach always helps.. :)

There are actually a lot of things that I wish I had done right the first time. When I look back now I see that I could have done so much better at high school if I had just tried harder and wasn't so lazy. I also wish that I hadn't focused so much on the way I wanted people to see me rather than being myself. I don't think I have a lot of serious regrets but I do indeed have a lot of smaller ones. If I could change one thing and do it right the first time I think it would be enjoying my younger days the way I wanted to and not how I thought I should.

@TonyTops you say you wished you had studied harder and partied harder. You could still study and enjoy your life..and have all the fun you want to. Why not?.

@sofssu Now while I am at varsity I am doing just that. I am working very hard to learn as much as I can and do well whilst having food times with good people. It's just unfortunate that what I know now I didn't know then.

Oh wow, I have a long list of things I should have done right. Relationships I shouldn't have let lapse, relationships I should have cut off sooner... Regrets, I have a few... But we have to start from where we are.

@Rollo1 Yeah.. its sensible not to live in the pat.. do what can be done to make things better in the present and be happy..

Same here. I should have ignored their slights and carried on keeping in touch. My sensitive nature had me cut off from many of my relatives.

@allknowing sorry about that.. I had got so busy with kids and stuff that I did actively pursue my contacts with them especially my cousins.

I lived overseas for the first fiveteen years of my life so we did not have much to do with our relatives unless they wrote to us and we wrote back.

I think you have already posted something similar and I think I already told you that one regret of mine is that I have said some bad words to some people.

@Cristi_Ichim I don't think so. If I do my memory is really getting bad.. Now you have made me feel much older.. So you regret getting mad at people and calling them names do ya? Have you been able to control that or was it just a one off incident?

I haven't talked with my sister in several years. I won't go into why but will say that it was something really horrible that she did to me. I have forgiven her but I haven't forgot and right now, I don't want a relationship with her. I don't want drama and negative people in my life.
