Up to my elbows

I can't believe this is my first post of the day. I think it's my first post of the day... if it isn't, then I am having memory loss. It's been a busy day, which is why I have only had a few moments here and there to read and comment on some discussions here but not write one. For one thing, I jerry-rigged the phone with some duct tape last night because the way life goes is that the one night you don't have a phone would be the night you have an emergency situation. So, to prevent a fire or any serious accidents, I fixed the phone well enough to keep it working overnight. And because it was still working this morning it started ringing and has barely stopped. I just spent the better part of an hour cleaning out guinea pig cages. Up to my elbows in piggie doo-doo. Small animals may conveniently not need walking but there's no glamor involved in things like litter boxes and guinea pig cages. Luckily, they have fairly short life spans. These guys are at least three years old, not much left to go. A couple of years, tops. I think I am going to reward myself with a fudgesicle and relax for a few before the hordes start looking for supper. I am thinking chili and corn bread. Anyone out there need a couple of mature guinea pigs? Cages included, recently cleaned.

I had no intention of even having guinea pigs, but my daughter brought them home and then sort of abandoned them.

I think guinea pigs are so cute but don't want one. I had a rabbit and although she was a sweetheart, I hated cleaning her stinky cage.

I really don't like having animals that are doing their business in the house, even if it is in a cage.

@Rollo1 I don't blame you. I feel the same way.

I used to have guinea pigs when I was younger, they were a pain and I hated cleaning the cage. Surprisingly, I find cats and dogs easier.

I wouldn't have anything if I could have my druthers. I need time off from being a caretaker.

Three of anything is a handful, I think.

It seems you are tired to feed and clean the guinea pigs. I can understand you.

I have had to do it twice in a couple of days, so it's a bit much, really.

It was tasty and it gets cool late in the day which makes it a nice meal.
