Dockside, Lady's Island, South Carolina
United States

I found a link to the 50 best small towns in America and had to check it out. * Since I am originally from New Jersey it was nice to see Lambertville listed. * But being a Tennessean now I was pleased to see Pigeon Forge. * However, my most favorite city in the south is Beaufort, South Carolina. Beaufort was our vacation destination for about 8 summers, except this current summer. We love the people, the water, the seafood. If you are a bagel lover the Palm and Moon is the place to grab a bag full. If chocolate is your thing try the Chocolate Tree. Have dinner at either one of the Dockside locations you can't go wrong. If you get tired of seafood try Johnson Creek Tavern for a mouth watering steak. If you want to see the other cities try this link:

I have never seen Beaufort. We drove many times from Florida to Atlanta and never had the time to stop to visit South Carolina. This is a state I missed to know better.

@AbbyGreenhill I agree, there is a terrible traffic in Atlanta. My husband had to go to Atlanta to attend conferences twice a year.

@LadyDuck 10 lanes of traffic each direction all driving 80-90 mph...that's why we stopped going to SC.

Atlanta is my most unfavorite place - toooooo much traffic. It's only a few hours from where we live.
