If you had the chance to go back in time and change something, what would you change? If I had this chance, I would have changed some decisions that I made about my life.

I can think of lots of things I'd like to change, but probably the stand-out is a really bad choice of friend when I was eight. She messed up my social life and made me lose a lot of self confidence, and it's something I've never really got back.

Just forgive yourself and forgive your friend for whatever happened. Don't live with the guilt or remorse. Free yourself from these shackles and live in the present fully.

@excellence7 I do try to live in the present, but unfortunately I'll never again be the little girl brimming with self-confidence that I once was. I do okay online, but in the real world I find it very difficult to start a conversation with anyone, though I'm a lot better now than I was when I left school.

@Gina145 Anything in particular that pushed you to be like this, apart from your childhood friend?

There are many things that I would like to change but one major decision that would have changed my entire lifestyle was giving up a very lucrative job at a nationalised Bank which I got after appearing for an exam and interview.I gave up after 3 months of training because I was married and had to leave the place...I wish I had the sense to hold on to it somehow !

I can understand. You surely can't change this but don't hold on to it as a regret. Take it as a milestone in your life. It had to happen. It taught you something and helped you grow as an individual.

@kiran8 I also feel same in my life. I feel I have compromised too much and let go of what truly complete me in life. But that's the reality now - a sad reality. It's important to struggle and live with it.

@excellence7 Yes of course no regrets since I have moved on ...But when I see some of my colleagues from those days I feel that I gave in too easily to the demands of my family ..

This is certainly not an easy question to answer, especially considering the vast amount of mistakes and stupid decisions that I have made throughout my life. It would be difficult to think of many things that I would not want to change.

@excellence7 Without a doubt Kevin, as I suspect most ofus would now that we have the benefit of hindsight.

Your response does show though that if you had the chance to change things in the past, you would have surely done so.

Nothing. If I had the chance to go back in time, I wouldn't change anything. All the good or bad decisions I've made, I made them with full consciousness so I wouldn't regret anything. Oh, one thing that I would really love to do was to say I loved my late brother more than anything. I know that he knew I loved him; I just wanted to say it.

Close your eyes and say it in your heart. He will listen to you, wherever he is. Just do it. You'll feel good.

@excellence7 thanks, and I agree. I often mention his name in my prayer.

I would not have moved so often. Buy one house and pay it off. We would have so much money now if we hadn't traded up so often!!

I'd have cared more about saving money when I was younger and getting my bills paid on time. It's not easy to play catch up when you've spent 10+ years in the hole.

I hope I don't end up with too many bills in my post 20s. I will take this as an advice.

I would probably be more careful with choosing friends. I always have the tendency to place so much trust to a person who doesn't deserve it. People saw that as a weakness, I guess, so some people use that to exploit. I have one particular period of my life where I experienced this that is worthy of a long post. But for purposes of this comment, I'd say it had marred me for life! Despite that however, I still consider myself fortunate because that experience taught me priceless lesson that helped me get through life which I still practice now. I am more cautious and smart with dealing with people. That is always a gain, don't you agree?

When I was in my 20's, I would have APPRECIATED that I was in my 20's.

Like I am doing now. I am on my late 20s and I am conscious about it. I am living every moment of it - traveling, exploring, discovering, taking risks and much more. I am doing justice to my 20s.

This is a very tricky question. I don't believe that changing my own past would be beneficial to me. If I change one thing, it could ripple effect and drastically change my life. Life lessons I've already learned could be harder, or they could not happen at all. If I could go back in time, however, just to visit era's bygone, I'd love that.
