I was playing a game on FB and realized I am getting brain fog. I know that after an trying time when I get anxiety and all I don't track very well. But, also I am seeing where if I have something in front me it takes me afew seconds to realize what I am looking at and take it all in. Like five cards in front of me and I have to focus for a few seconds and realize what cards are up. So I googled 'brain food' and thought I would share what I found with you. A list of foods that are good for cognitive, memory, focus, and all round mental function. Spinach(iron), eggs(yolks contain choline which improves focus, and overall cognitive performance), red meat(healthy levels of iron improve mental function; while iron deficiency blocks oxygen flow through the body and brain, causing mental fatigue.), walnuts(high in oxidants that helps with brain function and Omega 3),lentils(has vitamin B in that enhances brain power and increases dopamine function that improves move and brain performance.)beets(encourages fresh blood flow to the brain), oats(glucose for brain power), sardines(Yuck! can take a fish pill instead. Omega 3 and EPA and DHA), and flax( boost the performance of your cerebral cortex, the area of the brain that registers touch and taste; it also repairs damage or stress to brain and nerve tissues.) So happy eating and thought it was interesting.

Do you perhaps have amalgam or mercury fillings in your teeth? I believe that contributes to brain fog, among other sicknesses. I haven't had the chance to have mine removed. It's been several years since I first thought of having it removed and changed but still haven't had the chance to do so. I hope you get to eat all the food you need to help you ease the brain fog.

@celticeagle Well maybe you don't have any because you aren't aware of it. I have 6 teeth with amalgam fillings since I had cavities removed back in high school. As far as I know, brain fog is caused by toxic metals in the body. Some people just go through detox to get rid of them but of course it should be done safely.

It's very interesting indeed! I find chocolate to be very helpful when I need to focus and have a clean brain. Since I was a student, I was eating one bar of chocolate before my exam and it was helping me concentrate. The foods that you mentioned are much healthier and they provide long-term results and probably a lot of extra benefits. I ate lentils yesterday so I guess I will see the benefits soon!

Chocolate, huh? I know it is relaxing. I love lentils and beans. Spinach and walnuts. Pickled beets aren't too bad.
