Taking some time to prepare for the day.

Every morning before work, I am making a list of my daily tasks and set some priorities. This helps me organize my mind and make a sequence of things that I have to finish by the end of the day. Then, I leave some open time for last minute work that may come up since clients are unpredictable with their requests. There is a guy here who doesn't have any schedule. He starts working on whatever comes up first. Others prefer to make their schedule with weekly deadlines and tasks or prepare from the say before. How do you set your schedule? Do you plan ahead for the day or you prefer to adjust your schedule as the day progresses?

I never plan ahead, as when I get up, it ist then that I will decide what I will do that day. Sure, I do forget thiings at times, but for the most part, I accomplish what I set out to do.

I think you probably have betterer memory as well. It's great that you don't have to do lists to remember your tasks. I would forget some of my daily tasks if I wasn't maling notes or without my priority list.

@besweet My days change constantly, so I never know what I will be doing, so that is why I don't make lists. It works for me though the way I do it, and I might not get everything done I wanted to do, but then I am not in any hurry, and besides, Iwould rather be here than anywhere else, or doing anything else for that matter.

@rosekiss It's better to think that you're not in a hurry and there is enough time for everything! I get stressed and try to do things quickly in order to finish everything in my day. But then I don't enjoy some of them and I have stress in my life. I 've tried to be more relaxed with some things but it's not easy to change the way I think!

I set my schedule the day before. It is important to set priorities and to have everything listed, it is so easy to get distracted and forget something.

An organizer might help as well. I can't keep my calendar on my phone like many people do, so I bought a small organiser and write everything down. All important tasks and meetings are in order so I can remember them at all times.

@besweet I use an organizer, I prefer to write down what I have to do than to use a cellphone.

@LadyDuck Organizers are very helpful for this purpose. But I should clean it up from the previous dates more often. It's messy at the moment because I keep adding pages but I'm bored to take the old ones out!

I set my schedules for the week but I take note of the things to do at night for the next day so I will not be rushing in the morning. This way I feel comfortable and relaxed because I know how to adjust with unexpected appointments.

@besweet I don't overload my day with tasks which I think I can't manage. I always believe there's always a time for everything. :)

Weekly schedules are better, it sounds great that you can manage to follow them. I tend to add more tasks than I can do in the week so I avoid them. I only keep the the important deadlines which are usually on Fridays.
