Do You Know Any Know-It-Alls? / myLot

There are some people who see intelligent and smart people as know-it-alls. In their defense these people might just enjoy sharing information with no intention of belittling other people. Didn't Hermione start out to be one but she proved to be of great help up until the end (of the Harry Potter story)? I for one like sharing information I have learned through the years. I don't insist on it being right and don't shove my ideas and beliefs on anyone's throat and yet there will always be people who will feel bad about themselves whenever you share something. Of course I hate people who brag about their intelligence too while talking and/or trying to help other people. These are the kind of people who are annoying to have around and I've encountered quite a few. Most of them are guys trying to impress girls. Others are just plain meanies.

I still dont know where I stand. I definitely do not think I am any intelligent. I am always curious and mostly in a playful mood. Never tried impressing girls though... as the one I tried to, is my wife now.

Ah well I had one trying really hard to impress me with how smart and great he was that he actually got the opposite from me.

Anyway it's cool to be curious. I am curious about a lot of things too!

I know a few, but I am not sure that you can impress girls by bragging about a knowledge that you have not. It is a dork strategy

. The smartest people I know are generally humble, and if they help others, they will never belittle them.

I know one know-it-all, at least. Me!

Actually, of course, I don't 'know it all', by any stretch of the imagination, and nor do I ever claim to, really. One friend did give me the nickname "To Whom All Things Are Known" and I was momentarily proud of it until I realised that the initials spelt a rather derogatory - even rude - word plus my initials! Then I smiled at his cleverness

! I do always try to give as complete and as accurate an answer to questions I do know the answer to and that sometimes makes people think that I'm more 'wise' and 'knowledgable' than I really am!

@owstalaga @owlwings is definitely one of the best here. Always helping, always there. And no, he is mostly a silent lotter - who does not appear on too many discussions / responses, but you can feel him around, at least I can.

There are plenty of such people around, who like to show that they know everything there is on every subject possible ..They dont even have the decency to accept mistakes when at times they are proven wrong...

What I hate worse than that is acting like you are the boss of a place or the owner when you are not. I ignore people like that.

I am a jack of all trades.. I make it my business to know stuff.. but there are certain areas I will not venture into. I however don't like to come through as a know it all.. I cannot stand the braggers though.
