What am I doing wrong? / myLot

I think I see maybe it is because I am not on here lots and lots? No that can't be the only thing. Guess I am not interesting enough.

The thing is, I post a discussion, then go to some of my supposed followers and read and like theirs. Most reciprocate. Like I go to about 5 or 6 I follow but only 2 or 4 at the most ever visit mine? So why am I here? as soon as get back I always answer and reciprocate. Found this cute picture of how my friends here are acting (some that is) on pixabay free photos. Isn't he adorable? I would say the site is a bit dead but II have some friends here that seem to be doing very well. Guess I am just not witty.

You definitely have to be active on here. That goes for pretty much any site though. Have you tried suggesting posts to your followers? Maybe that will help.

Yes, the "suggesting" thing can work for sure, but then, there are always risks involved - on another discussion, someone said, suggestions are unwelcome to this person. This person may treat suggesting as an action of spamming.

yours are ok also. but I try to get to peoples posts that come to mine first. it is why until this one, I was not doing so well. after I answer all my posts, then I look toward the ones I am following

Lots of people were probably enjoying the Labor Day weekend. I am not able to get on as much as I would like. Since the steady job has washed out for now I am spending more time here. I am sure it will improve for you.

@bunnybon7 I hope that things are going better. I have found that the interaction (me visiting other people) does earn. I logged in at $1.82 and now I am up to $1.88 with only visiting people and no new posts.

Oh, I feel bad for neglecting my dear @bunnybon7 - but I've been neglecting nearly all the sites as it's gotten busy here with the kids' schedules and all. As they say, interaction is the key here - but for me I know that's difficult as I have to limit my time on the computer. I will make it a special point to visit ol' friends!!

Being active is the key. It does happen that not all your followers respond. You'll have to take that on any site.

I agree, it also helps if we are active a few hours per day and maybe respond fast to friend's comments. Then it becomes like live chat and I enjoy it very much when it happens.

@sofssu And the discussions have a better flow. If the comments come too late, it's less possible to keep the interest high and maybe get it to the hot topics list.

I am kind of in between on my activity right now. I do tend to either check on people who respond to me, or look at suggestions. I am sorry if I overlook you sometimes.

Don't just go to your followers. Go to "explore" and don't just like, comment. I'm not on here a lot and don't post a lot. I think I've responded to more conversations on here than any other site. Sometimes I can't think of anything to add but haven't had that problem here on myLot. You need to connect with more people and be sure to comment. People don't always see that someone has liked their post.

I for one just enjoy posting away. If no one responds of course I feel sad. But then when a lot of people respond to my next discussion I feel great.

It's just like a roller coaster ride maybe. Or I think you're taking it the wrong way. It's not that when you comment or like someone's discussion then it means they will automatically come around yours and do the same. As far as I know, that's not how it usually is on here even back then. Just post stuff you are interested in maybe and not things you think other people will be interested in. I dunno. It of course differs for each of us. Whatever works for others sometimes doesn't work for you and vice versa.

I am kind of having the same problem. I spend as much time as I can reading my friend's discussions and looking at other discussions of people I don't know. Yet when I start a discussion I get maybe 2-3 responses where as most of my friends are getting like 10. I just don't think the site has really picked back up yet... hopefully things get better as more people discover Mylot.

As long as you interact with others, they will interact with you. I interact a lot and some of the discussions are maybe just between two people commenting back and forth. It is a joy and lots of fun, and earning too. Once you comment back, you should get a notification of someone that commented back to you. You go back to that discussion, and comment back to them. You never know how far it will take you, as they can get really long, and go every which way, as far as comments go.

@bunnybon7 Yea, that is sad too. I really don't get as many responses to my discussions as some people get as they can get 50 or more. I have never been than lucky, but I am happy I get responses at all.

I agree with what others say. You can't always expect people to do what they expected you to do. Maybe you have a bunch of followers. But just because they don't respond doesn't mean weren't making a good post or you friends didn't care about it. Just enjoy your time here. Don't let other people ruin your day.

From what I can see, you have to do a lot of interacting, writing discussions and exploring to try and get new followers.

i don't need more followers. i have hundreds that DON'T follow me obviously. lol. I have you as friend on the B site i noticed. have not been able to get into it and do anything for days!

i think it is about to bite the dust right when i am almost at redeem. that is my luck

I was a member of my lots for years. left after it changed. i just came back today. Ive always read posts like your.. I think if you just open you mind and write and respond how your heart feels youll do fine. i wouldnt worry. Just do it !!! hahahahha have a great day.. ps love the picture :)

I respond on more of my connections discussions than they do on mine. I don't take it personally. as i know not everyone is interested in what I have to write about.

yes I understand that. I just don't understand why I would get just one or 2 when I know there should be more interested out of hundreds of followers and so many I read most days. lol. maybe I should tag them mylot as this worked.

I would blame it on the thing that is missing - "Notifications" of discussions started by friends. This newer version of MyLot needs a lot of extra exercising to get to the discussions that people are interested in.
