"Oh, Yeah, I've Got That"

I may have a rare condition. Fear not, it's not dangerous -- it's more a nuisance than something life-threatening. There's something rather funny about talking about health with other people, though. If you mention a disease that only had two documented cases in history, with the last being 750 years ago, you're still going to have someone say, "Oh, yeah, I've got that" or "my (insert relative here) had that." I don't know why we do that. But we all do! Sunday, when I was in a restaurant, I overheard an employee talking about the bad taste of Nasonex. I nodded in agreement, then later told her that saline sinus rinses can help reduce the need for Nasonex. Bad taste in the mouth from using nose sprays? Oh, yeah, I've got that!

Everyone wants to be the one who suffers most, I guess. We're not happy with just the normal, everyday pains of life, we've got to borrow from others, top each other. I probably do it, too.

LOL, this is a habit and my Mom is the best in saying "oh, I had that". She makes me mad.

It might be a habit. It can be annoying though, sometimes. I actually read another article some time ago about how some people can't help saying "me too" as a response when you tell them something.
