I see quite a few of these carved tree sculptures around Greater Manchester. In this case it is a friendly owl, probably inspired by A A Milne’s Owl in the Winnie The Pooh stories. It is very easy to just walk right by such woodland art without glancing up or just to one side. It is easy to miss but a delight to discover.

it is terrific that someone takes the time and trouble to make something like that.

its gorgeous! i fear there's not much in the line 's such in these parts 'less ya head to the mountains - there one finds wood carvin'. back in the hills 'f tennessee, they're prevalent. yepperz, many folks don't pay much mind to their surroundin's - most buried in their phones these days.
