Our Friend Mr. Chip!

We have a friend on our property that we just adore. He's been here about 3 years and he is a chipmunk and we call him "Chip", this year we see he has a family. Go Chip go! He runs across our deck quite a lot and his tail is usually straight up in the air. It's so funny when he's running across our deck and at times stops and looks in our sliding glass doors at us. He is so fast that we barely get glimpses of him but like I said sometimes he stops to look in the house. I wonder if he's looking for us? Do any of you have critters like Chip where you live?

No, we do not have those kinds of animals here in our country but I wish I could see one. I want to see a real chipmunk and not just Alvin, theodore and Simon

Not a chipmunk, but a cute hedgehog. The little friend comes out with the dark searching for food.

We have squirrels here and they are really smart.. they come trough the sliding doors and rob fruits kept on the dinner table. They look in and come into the kitchen when I am not there.. I had to put wire meshes to keep them out.. after a point they became a nuisance.

@sofssu Chipmunks are related to the squirrel family. They are really funny to watch.

We have squirrels which are a nuisance. They dig up the bulbs and the lawn and get into the attic. Pesky things !

Oh, how cute! We have a lot of birds and squirrels in the woods surrounding us but don't get to see them up close much. For a while during the summer, I had a little hummingbird that would visit twice a day to enjoy the roses outside our living room window. It would also stop and just hover in front of the window like it was looking at me. I'm sure it just saw it's reflection but it's nice to think it was looking at me.

@simone10 We have hummingbirds here also. I have come face to face with them a few times. We also have two cardinals that perch on our car mirrors and fight with themselves in the mirror. It is so funny.

@simone10 Yes it is funny to watch the cardinals fight with them selves. You already know who is going to win. LOL

You are lucky to have a chipmunk or chip around you, which keeps you entertained. We have squirrels in our terrace garden who keep moving here and there with jet speed all day. They just chew many beautiful flowers or new seedlings/plants or small fruits like baby oranges or baby pomegranates, which sometimes makes us feel disappointed.

We don't seem to have any chipmunks in this neighborhood, we did when I lived across town. We've got some bold squirrels and several rabbits that spend a lot of time in the back yard. Had some foxes around this summer too.

I have a spider on the front porch I named Boris. Boris still lives because he eats wasps and is in a spot where you can avoid getting too close, he is also not aggressive towards people and is a not poisonous, but he is really big!
