Once it Would Have Been Considered a Sad Sight

I sat in the corner of my favourite cafe this morning, working on a piece of writing I've been trying to sort out. I sat alone with my coffee, my pages and a pencil, engrossed in what I was doing.
I wasn't the only person sitting alone this morning. Two others sat at two different tables, each appearing to be working as I was. There's no wifi at this cafe, so they were no doubt working, as opposed to interacting online.
Once someone sitting alone in a cafe, especially a woman, would have been considered a sad sight. But not any more. It's quite a common sight in cafes here these days. I personally can get quite a bit of work done when I step away from the house like that for a while. I enjoy the solitude and the coffee.
How about you? Do you sometimes go to a cafe alone, for whatever reason, and make the most of your time there by working on something important to you?

@valmnz We have one car, we are together 24/7 and I hate to drive - I love this lifestyle.

I have never felt strange sitting along having coffee in my favorite place - I believe it takes a strong person to be ALONE and be content with that feeling. Because we are not ever really alone - our thoughts are a magnitude of Crowds flooding our minds.
