Listening to men

My husband and his friend are sat in my living room chatting. They are putting the world to rights, as people do, whilst distracting me from the important task of reading comments on mylot. They've covered everything from cars, to solar panels, ice cream vans and cars. It's all pretty boring and hard to ignore. My cat has the right idea though, she's gone to sleep.

I've got pretty good at shutting things out - my husband has the TV on most of the time.

I can shut out the tv, and quite often my husband complains I'm not listening to him but his friend is loud.

@Dragonairy1 most folks who used to come out were cowboys 'n their wives/girlfriends/families. once i fell ill, all my 'friends' but one ran screamin' like their hair was on fire. some 'd the nerve to try to sneak back in this past year, when the health started improvin'. i'm sorry, but life's jest too short 'n i slammed that chapter shut. but, that's alright coz i've always got my critters 'n they don't give a flip 'bout how schtuff looks nor what i'm wearin'

we don't really get a lot of people round, a couple of friends of my husbands and my parents. I'll usually visit my friends, saves on the tidying up before they come. It's a shame you don't get as many to talk to

The Man and I solve the world's problems together. But when he concentrates on his computer, he doesn't hear anyone or anything.

During such living room and bar conversations, my friends and I have solved the JFK mystery, found world peace, and sorted out the global energy crisis. Naturally we forget it all again within hours but such conversational bonding might save the World one day.

I hate to hear people talking when I work. Cats always know what to do.

Some conversations can be really manly, and most of us ladies get bored by it. At least he isn't trying to talk to you about it all

Now you're making me curious, I want to know what they were saying about ice cream vans!

My husband's friend has an ice cream van, my husband used to, our council has just started charging for selling on the streets and they were discussing it (well moaning), duller than it sounds
