Do You Ever Dress Up Your Pets?

When I moved in with my brother, he fell immediately in love with my 2 dogs, Bella and Cricket. He started spoiling them right away and one of the first things he did was to come home with clothes for both dogs. Cricket was old and didn't care for it too much so she never wanted her clothes on too long. Bella loved dressing up and would run to me whenever I got one of her little outfits out. The picture included is just one of the outfits Bella has. This was taken several years ago. I wonder if he is going to dress Daisy up too? If you have pets, have you ever dressed them up? What about anyone you know who had pets?

@crazyhorseladycx I did the same with my cat when I was a young child and I would put my in the doll buggy and go around the block with her in it.

@scarlet_woman I can imagine. I think most cats are that way about wearing clothes.

I have tow dogs, and I have never dressed them up in clothes. I never will either, as they wouldn't like them anyway,as they would try to pull them off.

@simone10 My dogs won't even sleep under a blankeet, as they try to find their way back out, so I know it would be the same with the clothes.

I think that Daisy will be that way. Bella just lets us do whatever and doesn't seem to mind but Daisy wants to chew.

She really doesn't mind wearing clothes at all. Now, she doesn't care for her sweaters but it's because they are a little tight going over her head.

Bella is so cute in her little dress. I have no pet, but I would love to dress them. I have a friend who dresses her cat, he looks funny.

while she looks mighty cute, i fear i couldn't do such with a conscious. don't gimme wrong, i recall a cat i 'd as a youngster who i'd dress up in baby doll clothes 'n put in a stroller, lol. but 's an adult? nah, i'll live that sorta thingy to folks who get joy outta such. that bein' said, i've painted a few ponies in my lifetime fer various events, jest ne'er put clothes on 'em.

@crazyhorseladycx Bella has sweaters also for the winter. I'm sure Daisy will have a couple too.

My older dog had a dress when she was about 2 months old but she would not keep it on so I never put any on her again. My new puppy I haven't ever tried to dress it up as I don't think she would like it either. My daughter in-law dresses her little tiny dogs up and they tend to keep the clothes on, it is cute to see.

Bella always keeps her clothes on. Personally I never would have bought clothes but it gives my brother joy to do so.

Yes, I've dressed up both of my chihuahuas before (my previous girl as well as my current girl). However, it's usually just sweaters during the cold weather to help keep them warm. With my previous chihuahua I even dressed her up for Halloween a couple of different times... *sigh*

@simone10 Aw. Mine had a pumpkin costume as well as an angel one. With my current chihuahua, with her coloring she'd make the perfect bat!

I have sweaters for Bella too as she gets cold in the winter, even being inside. I'm sure we will have to get some for Daisy too. Bella does have quite a few Halloween costumes. One is a hot dog bun with Bella as the hot dog. It's really cute.

Bella looks so cute in her dress. I have never dressed up any of my pets. I had a neighbor once who would dress up her pets. She also took them trick or treating on Halloween as well. One was a lady bug and the other one was a bumble bee. They were her children.

That sounds so cute! I wish I could take Bella out for Halloween but it gets pretty cold around here and she doesn't like the cold.

@sacmom Yep it is cold for short haired animals in the winter time.

Even if it's to keep them warm? My chihuahua is short haired and even bald on some parts of her body, so having her wear sweaters is a necessity during the winter.

She looks absolutely adorable! When I was younger I used to play dress up with my cat, and it didn't turn out quite well of course. Now I don't think I'd try to dress her up again.

I imagine it is a lot harder to dress a cat than it would be for a dog.
