Spoiler alerts. Season One Episode four. Sheldon’s contempt for geologists is first mentioned and we are introduced to his recurring and long suffering boss, Professor Gabelhauser who fires him when Sheldon insults him. Sheldon’s stubborn pride alone prevents him from returning to work, but he goes increasingly crazy when separated from his work. Leonard takes drastic action by getting Sheldon’s redneck born again Christian mum to intervene. Laurie Metcalfe gives her first appearance as the brilliantly performed Mrs Cooper. Penny’s bad driving and disregard for her car’s warning indicator lights is first referenced here. The episode ends with a rare touch of real science fiction when Sheldon’s experiment in creating luminous glow in the dark fish actually works. Arthur Chappell

I remember this movie, it was a good one. It is true that the experiment about creating glowing creatures in the dark works, they also tried this with mice.

Didn't know someone had actually done such experiments - interesting. Not sure if 'd want to glow in the dark or have a cat that does either

@arthurchappell No, I am sure I would not like to glow in the dark, but it has been an interesting experiment.
