What Is Love?

Is love that fuzzy little feeling when your around someone? Or that feeling of lost appetite and or the minds tendency not to be able to focus on anything other than that person. I love hamburgs, but is this true love? Can a hamburg love me back?
Love is a persons actions, not just words.
Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.
It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].
It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.
Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].
Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end].
No greater love is there for one another than for one to lay down his life for another.

Marie you are absolutely right. He gave us the gift of love to give it out to others. All those He brings into our lives. Every day is different you never know what the Lord has in store but be sure He's got something up His sleeve so to speak.

I love what you have to say about it. Thank you for sharing. I know the ultimate love is Jesus Christ and the price He paid for all mankind's sins so we can be forgiven and spend eternity in heaven with Him

Love is so many things. But I believe the Greatest definition of Love is Jesus Christ He gave His life for the entire world's sins. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His on Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life...

@kayshope My husband that I have now is nothing like my ex. Thanks be to God. He has never cussed at me or called me a bad name or hit me. He's usually very laid back. He's a hard worker and loves to do landscaping. He's good with animals. My grandfather told me a good man loves animals. Well I have a great man for a husband.

@Butchcass4 amen.. my first one was from .... he was very abusive. Only good thing ever recvd. from him was my son. he mad it all worth it.. Nothing else was good at all.

Yes Jesus is the very definition of love. He was held on that cross by His great love for the whole world. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life!
